Does the job, terrible quality
I typically don't write reviews, but this item ticked me off. To start -- it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It makes a lot of noise if you know how to blow it -- I think one of the reviewers doesn't understand that a vuvuzela is not simply "blown". You have to properly curve your lips to make the unique noise -- if you do that, this one will do exactly that.My beef is with the quality -- TOTAL CRAP. Made in some mold sweatshop in China .. as stamped on the plastic. It's made of two pieces which seperate for "easy storage" .. this is crap. It's not for easy storage, it's just easier to plastic mold two pieces and have the consumer worry about assembly. The two pieces "fit" into each other and remain together as a result of the force between them. As you can imagine, through repeated horn use and some disassmbly (about 4-5 times), the plastic pieces are stretching and it's harder to keep the horner in one piece. It's just a matter of time (probably by the semi-finals of the 2010 WC) that I will need to surgically put this thing back together with duct tape. Hopefully it still makes the same sound. So for $16 bucks ($10 for the horn and $6 for shipping - also crap), you can go to your local Brasilian/Argentinian/German/Spanish area and buy three. Then you can throw them out without feeling too bad about it.Word of advice -- don't buy this one. Go online and read reviews for something of better quality.

When you really need to make some noise
Bought so I could be an incredibly noisy super-fan for my buddy playing in E-League Hockey. They were fantastic.

deafening with a little practice
A fun and very loud noise maker. It takes a little practice to use, but once you have mastered the technique, you will be bursting eardrums in no time. Definitely an outdoor toy. It is two pieces that are easily put back together if pulled apart and very durable material. A big hit at soccer matches. Everyone wants to try it.

A lot of fun for not a lot of money
This vuvuzela is awesome! It's so much fun at any sporting event, it takes a little bit of practice to get good at it... It's pretty loud, and its collapsible so you can fit it in a small backpack or bag. We use it at the oakland a's baseball games when we go... Listen for us! :D

Sound the Horns!
Bought the Vuvuzela because I've heard the loud sound it makes at ball games. Thought it would be awesome to enhance cheering for school functions but it is tricky and difficult to blow to get the desired sound. It does take practice. Maybe one day I'll master the technique. :)

Good gag gift, but not for the price.
I bought two vuvuzelas for my friend for his birthday. They came earlier than expected. However, the quality is terrible, cheap plastic made in china. They were deformed, but still fit together. They did their job "very loudly," and annoyed all the party guests.I only paid $4.74 for each vuvuzela, which was perfect for a gag gift but nothing more. I wouldn't pay what they are asking now. If you are looking for quality, go to South Africa.Note: I bought two because my friend has has two sons... I'm pretty sure his wife hates me right about now, with two little kids blasting away on their vuvuzelas... Hey, I'm a supporter of the arts.

Why would you need one of these?
Cheap piece of plastic that I used to annoy my girlfriend and dog.
