Noble Sanction by William Miller
Book 4 from the Jake Noble series. Fast and furious action. Both deeper emotions exhibited by Jake and still action packed if not a bit more gore than previous books in the series. A good and well paced read.

fascinating new character emerges…
Long and lean, she’s as lovely as she is mean, and ol buddy Jake gains a much needed new best friend, mean time … well life goes on, on the 40 footer there’s promise that life may become a bit more complicated….Enjoyed this book, still hoping the proof reader gets better though.

Great Read
Within the genre of rebellious, lone-wolf, meta-human, morally centered military operatives saving a community or the whole freaking world, Jake Nobel slots in nicely between the purely sensationalist juvenile trash (but still fun) and the super-sophisticated--right up there with Jack Reacher. All four of the novels are page-turning thrillers, the kind you pick up and just can't put down until you finish, pure momentum driving you through to the climax. This fourth novel was a nice little change of pace in that Jake has a little more internal struggle than usual. As we know, all our heroes have a little disillusionment with the hierarchy under which they toil (or used to) which leads to their loner status, but in this case it's his personal loss that makes his doubts well, more personal. It also allows him to finally score with the hot chick, which these morally centered guys have to pass on so often just to maintain their NOBLE status--but thank god, Jake finally got some. But I digress...Bottom line, if you're reading this review you're probably interested in this genre, and if so I highly recommend that you start at the beginning and read the Jake Noble series 1-4. What it lacks in subtlety it more than makes up for with heart, great action, dynamic and exciting writing and plots.

Tightly-plotted, action-filled, and highly satisfying
A distraught Jake Noble finds himself working for the CIA again in William Miller’s finest thriller yet. Jake is not the man he was before – emotionally devastated and fighting despair after the death of his love Samantha Gunn, which makes him more dangerous than ever because he is less afraid of death than ever. Armed with this edge, he is tasked with locating his exact opposite… a beautiful woman who matches him skill-for-skill. The tension is sexual but deadly at the same time as a pursuit starts in South Africa and races across Europe. The global action is non-stop, deliciously plotted in Miller’s usual roller-coaster-like “sweep” that makes Noble Sanction impossible to put down. Throw in a mastermind villain with an evil plot ripped from today's headlines. Plus, a ton of Miller's signature infighting back at Langley as two CIA power-players go head to head, which he infuses with both tension and comic charm. Bonus: the growing relationship between Cook and Witwicky is a hoot. Bonus #2: A surprise twist that you will never see coming. Bonus #3: A bonus that will knock your socks off. Very very satisfying.

this was a good one
Book started fast and stayed entertaining the whole way through.Author is good, not great. Main character if he was as pro as the author would have us believe wouldn’t get blinded by emotion and would have better tradecraft. That being said I will read the rest.

Good read, some attention to detail lacking
Overall a good read. Some attention to detail was lacking, especially the use of an AR-15 by Luke. The AR-15 is a semi-automatic rifle, it is not used by the military and he would not have carried it in Afghanistan. The obsession with describing Elizsa as a trained assassin became tiresome. Of course towards the end this highly trained assassin made a rookie mistake when confronting Like and then getting close to pat him down.

Good character development
Far too often, this genre of book can easily be classified as 'shoot lots of people' to 'super evil people'. While it does follow a bit of Bourne Identity and Bond, it is different in that you have the main characters struggling with moral issue. In this book, the characters work out their take of the difference between a killer for country and killer for cash. I won't give any of it away (and admit writing that last sentence took some thought). I know I'm interested to see what is next. Don't leave us hanging too long Mr. Miller. I highly recommend all 4 books - and let others know that there is another author whose main character has the same name... his are a good read too, but thankfully Amazon warns me when I'm about to buy something I've already bought so crisis averted.

Another winner for Miller
Not as many bullets flying as in the first four Jake Noble books but more points to consider.--how much slack can you cut for an old friend,--how far can you really trust a single-minded assassin,--how does it feel when your body says, ok, we just can't physically do this anymore.***At the end of book 4 and the beginning of book 5, I thought that I would have changed some of the outcomes. A "nod" to Miller as I read the Epilogue in book 5. Nice Work! I'm looking forward to see how you put this back together.I highly recommend this book.
