Best binos in the world aren’t any good if you don’t have them with you. These are small enough that the can be with you most of the time when traveling. Well made with great optics. Price makes them a “no brainer.”

First thing to note was that it was delivered from overseas in a bag with no packing whatsover. Miraculously it was undamaged but probably more a testament to its solid construction than luck.Negatives first. You need to get used to its form, the handling is rather different to its roof prism competitors but fine once you learn to cup your hands over the top of binos-one handed focussing is possible. Depth of field is narrow so you need to frequently focus to keep the view sharp. Made in china, in case you were expecting made in japan but build quality is good.Positives. Outstanding resolution. It may be slightly bulkier than a roof prism because it uses a reverse porro prism design but it has none of the drawbacks of cheap roof prisms. Chromatic aberration is very well controlled. Knocks the socks off the cheaper equivalents. Colours are accurate. Has impressive close focus abilities, probably as close as 2metres or so. Bright view so light transmission is good. Maybe slight ghosting or haziness in the view when sun is at low angle but no worse than you would expect for non-exotic binoculars. Overall recommended option for lightweight compact walk around binos. Dont be tempted by cheap options, when in the field you want good glass not toys and these pentax binos deliver results.

Good quality, clear optics. Good value for the money. Can see very clearly and has smooth operation. If you dont want to spend a lot of money, this is the perfect small pair of binoculars.
