V-Line Closet Vault II Gun Safe & in-Wall Cabinet, Off White

I wanted a cabinet to keep my guns organized and out of the way. I don't have room or desire for an actual "safe" and I really don't have an arsenal; just a couple shotguns and a small handgun. This product was exactly what I was looking for. I bought the cabinet, a couple full shelves, a half-shelf, and a pegboard. I will be getting a handgun hanger for the pegboard but for now I just lay that one on the shelf along with ammo.Pros:Pretty heavy duty, decent gage steel;The powder coated finish is really nice and high quality (also note that the shelves, half-shelf, pegboard, are all the same color, which is not like the description);The lock is easy to configure and non-electrical (no batteries necessary);Installation took 45 minutes and looks perfect;Pegboard, shelves, etc. went in easy and solid;The packing and protection they did for shipping was unlike anything I had ever seen, beautifully done;Made in USA.Cons:I don't like the foam block with holes for barrels. One of my guns has a magazine that almost reaches the muzzle, so it wouldn't have fit the hole anyway. I ordered a couple other methods, like magnets, etc. and will try those out instead.Note: I was a little bummed out that the butt on my Mossberg is too wide to stand the gun perpendicular with the top of the gun against the back wall of the cabinet. That's not a fault of the cabinet; there's just no way for them to add more depth without having the whole cabinet stick out farther. So I just stand it up sideways.There are a couple reviews saying they were looking for a "safe" or a "vault." It's unfortunate that the manufacturer uses those words because that's not what this is. But I knew from the pictures, description, and reviews exactly what I was getting: It's a discreet, mechanically-locking, quick-access well-made metal cabinet that will keep the contents away from kids and other prying eyes. If a crook wants to cut it out of the wall or pry it open, given enough time, of course they will. I have a security system; if somebody breaks in, they're going to want to get in and out pretty quick while that siren is blaring. By the same token, if I'm at home and that siren starts, it will take me all of 5 seconds to unlock that cabinet and be ready.This is an excellent product and I am 100% satisfied.

This is a great ammo locker and safe. The steel door, 3 bolt lock, recessed door, and in-wall installation will ensure valuables are secure from theft. Since it is not fire rated I would be cautious of placing expensive items such as gold, money, or irreplaceable items in the safe. It was a bit awkward and heavy to handle for one person however the installation was very simple despite not having standard spacing between studs. Very helpful to have a piece of wood at the bottom to hold the safe up while securing the safe to the wall studs. Although pricier than competitors, it is approximately 40% larger since it extends 1.5 inches from the wall which makes it comparable in price when comparing price per square inch. This extra width allowed me to maximize storage by stacking my ammo length-wise. It can even fit the plastic ammo cans. That said, I felt a bit nickel-and-dimed having to purchase three shelves at a what I thought was a steep price of $27 a piece. NOTE: When installing shelves or placing items in the safe, keep in mind the the lock assembly extends 2 inches from the door requiring the the shelves and wider items to be placed above and/or below the lock assembly.

Great safe. Easy to install. Fits between standard distance wall studs. 6 screws included. There are 8 holes, 4 on each side, so if you want to use all 8, you will need 2 more screws. I just used the six included, did the lowest, middle and highest holes.Did I mention easy install? Having someone hold it while you drive the screws (which have a bolt head) helps, but it could not be any easier. Resetting the combination is likewise very easy. It may have taken 20 minutes to install, certainly no more than 30.If you have an unfinished part of your house, this is your safe. If you have to cut dry wall, well, that'll make the install take longer. I was hesitant to buy it, it's not cheap and I was concerned about the install. Having purchased it, I have no reservations highly recommending it.As you can see in the picture, I already had the pistol safe version, this one installed right next to it, no problem.
