Best slicer ever made.
I ordered this knife just so I’d have another one. I truly believe this is the best slice made. I even use it to slice cold butter to put on toast. Worth the money. Would definitely purchase again, and it would make a great gift for the holidays or for a house warming

A Great Design
My significant other called this type of cheese slicer one of their favorites. I got this model for the kitchen, and for them as a gift, as they hadn't had one for years. It's genuinely a great type of slicer, seemingly modeled after the cutting edge of a traditional wood planer. Feels like a lost design, as not only does it cut fairly consistent slices of cheese with minimal effort, it also cleans incredibly easily, and wears slow to boot! I've heard it said you can use one of these things for many years with no more maintenance than standard cleaning, and I believe it.That said, I do want to make sure you're aware of its potential failings, as well. Namely, at least with this particular product, the slices it makes tend to have a somewhat feathery edge to them. There is also a tendency for the back end of a cheese block to experience some blow-out as the pulling action of the tool causes the material to pull off in a chunk once it's too weak to stand firm against the cutting edge. I'm not sure if this is a resolvable issue, or if it is inherent to the design, but I do find it notable and worth mentioning. So on the whole, it's a good product, but it may be more useful for some cheese types than others. I'd say give it a try, though. If you like it, it will last a long while.

Fabulous!
I love dedicated tools. This knife is my new go-to favorite for cheese. The flat handle, pointy tip and sharp-enough blade all seem well designed for the task at hand. I was hoping it would have a European-made feel and it does! I'm incredibly satisfied with this purchase.

Great For Peeling Vegetables Too!
Try this cheese slicer for peeling vegetables. You may never go back to the niggling old fashioned peelers. I've used a cheese slicer to peel vegetables my entire life. This design peels carrots, potatoes, zucchini, egg plant, celery, you name it and does so tons faster than a traditional vegetable peeler. I bought this cheese slicer because it looks so much like my vintage Danish cheese slicer that has been in constant use since 1964. (I was 13 when family bought it home from the New York Worlds Fair.) The wood handle on that one is finally giving out on me. This slicer works just as well as my heirloom! And it feels just the same in my hand (which is a size 7.5 womens glove). It sliced cheese fine for me, but I was more interested in how quickly it would peel a potato. I like making big vats of vegetable soups and stews. To prolong the life of any wooden handled implement, I hand wash and dry. I don't know if this peeler will also last 56 years. That's maybe asking a lot. It would outlive me if it did. But it seems well made in comparison to most contemporary kitchen tools and I hope it will stick around. I think these make great gifts.

Super SMALL
I bought these for a gift-for my recipients to take on picnics. These are super small...look at the specs. If your hand can be comfortable with this size-buy them; as they are cute. BUT I cannot give them for a gift as they look like they are made for kids. The sharpness seems okay. Where I live, I most certainly can buy petite cheese knives that are more appropriate for gifts..

Best slicer ever!
We've had one like this for years...maybe 20 or more and have tried similar ones but this style is the best. Wanted a second one! We eat a lot of cheese!

Consider Upgrade Options & Beware Packaging
I bought the "oak" handle Cheesy Knife. I should have upgraded. It's not a *bad* knife, but there were some manufacturing issues. The wood and metal parts on mine weren't seated perfectly, leaving a little asymmetric gap (see photos). There was also a 1-2 degree difference in angle between the handle and blade. It's hard to see, but you can feel it--it's super weird. If this is anything but a super-rare defect, to me, it goes from being a $10 knife to being a $1 knife. Seriously, its freaking weird having the blade always land at a weird angle. You can see the metal knife has a higher quality smooth fitting between the blade and handle parts, like a drop forged knife (though I doubt it is). That smooth bolster should make it a wee easier to clean and maintain too.• Wood version verdict:It works well enough, with some caveats, and I like how it looks. Not a terrible deal for a Hamilton, but consider spending a buck or two more and get the stainless version or another brand. You get what you pay for.• Note on country of origin:The knife comes with no "Made In" labelling anywhere. One online retailer listed the metal handle version as being made in the Netherlands, while several others report the identical knife (same UPC) as being made in China. I have only seen the wood handle version advertised as made in China.• Notes on packaging:My knife came without any packaging. Seriously, I opened the box and there was a big plastic air pocket and the cheese knife scooting around on the bottom of the box, like a message from the mafia, but like the mafia if were weirdly frugal about shipping and handling costs and also really enjoyed cheese. To the Amazon warehouse guy/gal's credit, someone had rolled a bit of uninflated plastic air pocket material around it, like the world's least edible burrito. But seriously guys, do they really sell this thing in stores without a box or even a cardboard sleeve? Are the warehouse guys forced to fish items out of a big bin of exposed knives? Use cardboard sleeves, bro.

Best Cheese Slicer Made
Hands down, the ultimate in cheese slicers. So easy, works well on soft or hard cheese. Keep out of dishwasher to preserve wood handle. I oil mine once in awhile so that it remains in good shape.

My favourite of many
I love the look of this knife, it looks like it's hand finished but the steel is beautiful. The handle is quite thin so might feel a little dainty in the larger of hands. So, I've been looking for the perfect knife to cut brie but have now come to the conclusion that there isn't one. I've tried a few and none were cheap. Out of all my soft cheese knives I would say this is my favourite. Not just because it's not a common object to see at gatherings, but because it doesn't look or feel cheap. It's also far easier to clean than the alternative design with the holes in the blade. If I had to clear my drawer of soft cheese knives and could search again for another, I'd buy this one. And it deserves to be washed gently by hand, don't ruin that oak handle.

Finally thin slices!!
This is the third cheese slice I've bought and I've finally got what I wanted, nice fine slices. I don't want great big chunks that make the whole block of cheese break up and this one delivers in quality and worth paying a bit more for. The saying you get what you pay for is 100% true. Love it.

Works well on cold Chedder.
I grew up with one of these, and it is still in use 40+ years later. Cheese needs to be cold or it sticks to the back of the blade. It's name in the Netherlands by a company that knows Cheese, and will likely outlast me.

Poor production standards?
Mine came with a big crack in the handle. Given that it comes with a 10 year guarantee this is really disappointing. As a functional thing it's good but your buying this for some than the function.
