Great Product -- World-Class Customer Service
Great Product -- World-Class Customer Service. I installed my Elite cover on my 2015 Ford F-150 yesterday. I purchased this cover to replace a very expensive cover (made by a competitor) that I've had on the truck for over a year. I simply got sick of having water in the bed every time it rained (despite trying mightily to waterproof the competitor's supposedly waterproof cover), so I did a lot of research and chose the UnderCover Elite (UC2158) for a variety of reasons:1) Function -- if you're looking to make the bed of your truck function more like the trunk of a large car, this is the cover you need. All four sides of the cover overlap the bed rails (there is even a rubber weather strip on the end closest to the cabin to help ensure water stays out), so there are no creases or lines (or areas where water might sit and/or seep through) requiring a seal. Instead, the cover actually fits on top of the rails, so any water just rolls off. This is clear in the photos, but I did not realize how materially different this style works/looks/feels than the roll-type covers only covering the bed opening. It actually feels more secure -- more substantial -- and feels like a part of the vehicle rather than a tack-on.In addition to protecting from the weather, the open/close method of this cover is far superior than those requiring you to fold or roll the cover in order to access the bed. It almost feels like an SUV's rear hatch when operating the cover, thanks to the assisted opening/closing provided by the included pneumatic struts (again, think SUV rear hatch...). The ease of opening and closing this cover is far superior to competing brands.2) Looks/Aesthetics - While subjective, so each person will have their own personal opinion on how something "looks", in my opinion the style and look of this cover are second to nonet. In terms of how this cover impacts the visual appearance of a truck, the cover provides a traditional feel combined with an aerodynamic look (but not over-done) which makes the cover immediately suggest luxury/high-end/custom. The Elite could even potentially pass as a factory add-on for a top-end truck model because it actually makes the truck look better than it does without it. The one-piece design with no hinges, folds, creases, etc. contribute to the pleasing aesthetics as well. In my experience, most add-on accessories that are intended to serve a functional purpose do not ALSO add to the look/feel of a vehicle, and vice versa (most accessories intended for looks often serve little to no functional purpose). This product is both functional and looks great. As such, significant nod to the UnderCover engineers is in order for designing a product that is so functional, yet so sleek and good-looking as well. This is a difficult combination to achieve.3) Restrictiveness to Truck Bed - I think it's important that a bed cover not restrict or lessen cargo area in the bed. My previous cover, for example, took up 14 inches of bed space in the rear of the bed (for the housing/box the cover rolls up into). That space was permanently eliminated and unusable, unless I were to physically un-install the entire cover. For a short-bed pickup, that's a lot of space -- the cover essentially turns it into a 3.5 to 4' bed. The UnderCover Elite, however, does not take up any space (other than a few inches for the hidden hinges), so a 5.5' bed remains a 5.5' bed. That extra space is extremely valuable, particularly if you're using it as a work truck. Additionally, opening the cover is remarkably effortless, as opposed to having to fold or lift or roll something just to get something out of your truck.4) Customer Service -- I did not know that outstanding customer service was a reason for going with UnderCover, however I do understand that you get what you pay for these days. I'm thankful for that, because with an UnderCover product comes their outstanding customer service.I made a mistake when "keying" my lock after initial install (I used the wrong type of key), and ended up not being able to unlock the cover. Unfortunately my mistake caused the lock to malfunction so I was unable to open the cover and access the bed of my truck. After trying for way too long, I finally emailed UnderCover's customer service from the "Contact Us" page of their website. It was 1 AM and I was not happy -- I sent a very rude message to UnderCover (I have since apologized), and demanded that they tell me how to open my new cover ASAP.Just a few hours later (after some much-needed sleep), I received an email from the UnderCover Customer Service Manager (Chris Lundberg), asking me to call him directly so he could help me. Despite my rude message to them, Chris was very polite and courteous. He patiently asked me to describe the problem, and once I explained what happened he immediately said they would overnight me a new lock, today. In addition, he was unable to determine the exact lock to send (he would need serial number of cover, which is on the inside and inaccessible at the moment), so he over-nighted TWO locks so he could be absolutely certain that I received the correct one.I was blown away by UnderCover's customer service - specifically, I was impressed with their promptness in getting back to me along with their immediately offering to ship me the part(s) I needed to fix my problem (for free!). I do not work for or with this company, have no affiliation with them, nor am I getting compensated in any way to write a review -- I have never even dealt with this company until now. Moving forward, however, I will definitely be doing more business with UnderCover, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top-notch product coupled with the best customer service that I have experienced in recent memory.

Some what frustrating
Some what frustrating and disappointing . The wall hardware is ok, but nothing special at all (less than10 dollars worth of hardware). The light is some cheap and crappy quality plastic. The battery or batteries didn’t come with it and the battery cover was luckily still in box because it wasn’t on the light. Not sure what kind of battery or batteries the light takes because there is no identifying info ANYWHERE. The cover itself is nice looking and fairly solid but the measurements and mounting hardware are finicky and require a tremendous amount of patience. Not sure why but the back of the cover that doesn’t touch when parked seems to rub the rear corners leaving a gummy black residue. I paid less money for steel running boards that mounted easier and quicker than this and are STEEL. Thing is you could pay the dealership labor fees to install the same brand and possibly same style.

Excellent tonneau cover with 1 disappointment
I bought this Elite tonneau cover for my 2015 Ford F-150. The cover arrived in perfect shape and it took about 45 mins with the help of 1 person to get it aligned perfectly and adjusted. It's a very nice cover and seems to be very durable. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars is due to the fact that the programmable key cylinder that accepts the factory ignition key is no longer included. It comes with 2 pre-cut keys that you will need to carry with your vehicle key. This was a feature I was really looking forward to and it's still advertised on their videos and downloadable installation instructions. I called Undercover and was told they discontinued the programmable key cylinder 2 months ago. That's disappointing but it isn't a deal breaker. They just need to update their videos, advertisements and installation instructions.

Customer Service is lacking!!!
I did a lot of research on this cover and saw comments about the locking mechanism, so I looked on the Undercover website to see what they stated about it. According to their website the locking mechanism can be matched to your vehicle key. This is incorrect because you get another key you have to have. This was a really big selling point for me because I wanted to use my vehicle key. I went to the Undercover website and tried to use their "Live Chat" to ask questions about the lock. It appeared that it was working but nobody ever responded to me through the Live Chat or a follow up email. I received an email today to write a review and let them know if there was anything else needed to please respond. So I responded and shortly after I received a reject that the email address was not configured correctly. So the cover is actually pretty nice although I really wish it had the lock on it that integrates with the vehicle key. It would also be really nice if their was some way to communicate with someone other than through a review.

Great cover! Spent a lot of time researching and trying to decide what I wanted. I have taken it off myself, but prefer having a helper for putting it back on, just to keep the paint safe.
