The Great War in a Great Game!
Battlefield 1 is the latest game from EA and DICE and is set in the First World War. A war that hasn’t really got much attention in gaming, a couple of indie games like Verdun and Valiant Hearts. I have finished the campaign and put late nights into Multiplayer perhaps too much. Will it be able to compete with all these futuristic shooters like Titanfall 2 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare? The short answer: Yes, the long one: Hell Yes!The game starts of with its prologue for it campaign called war stories where you play as a Harlem Hell fighter in the frontlines towards the end of the war. From there you are free to choose the rest of the characters a British Tank driver, a Bedouin warrior woman, an Aussie runner, an American RAF pilot, and an Italian mountain soldier. It’s a total of six protagonists. While people have praised the story for being the best since Bad Company 2. It’s really nothing special. I found it enjoyable but it was too damn short and some of the stories are dumb like the Italian one. It starts of with you equipping a full metal body suit and a heavy machine gun. You are invincible and you processed to destroy the entire Austro-Hungarian Empire. Yes, their was these prototype armors but they were high ineffective and cumbersome. It’s such a wasted opportunity as World War I was the first modern war, as we know it with planes and tanks. Its perfectly fine to put these in Multiplayer for the fun factor but in a campaign that has a serious tone and wants to be taken seriously this just falls flat on it’s face. While it seems like I hate on the campaign it is definitely better than the most recent campaigns in Battlefield 3, 4, and hardline. My favorite stories were the Aussie runner and the Bedouin warrior woman. As there shameless rip-offs of the movies Gallipoli and Lawrence of Arabia and I am perfectly fine with that. Shame its only four hours, six at most that is another thing that fails in this campaign. There are only three things certain in life death, taxes, and buying Battlefield for its Multiplayer. As Battlefield delivers the best Battlefield game I played since Bad Company, which I consider the best in the franchise. The graphics, the sounds, the music and the destructibility are just amazing. Its all-good stuff and I applaud DICE. The graphics are amazing the lighting the detail frostbite is definitely one of the prettiest graphics engines around. They use the same technology in Battlefront in this one so WWI has never look so good. Best of all it runs at 60 frames per second so it’s not only pretty it plays smoothly as well. That brings me to the sound as all the weapons all the explosions and the infantry yelling are as authentic as they can be. The music, no more dubstep I hated it for Battlefield 3 and 4 it’s now replaced with a more fitting orchestral score like Battlefield 1942. Then there’s the destructibility not this “levolution” scripted destructibility like in Battlefield 4 real non-scripted destruction like in Bad Company 2. See a sniper hiding in a building level it, enemy safe in a house destroy it. Maps look completely different from start to finish. Its great to see this back as it was limited in BF3 and BF4. It is a step toward the right direction. You take elements from Battlefield 4 and Battlefront and plus what was mentioned previously you get Battlefield 1 multiplayer. With nine maps at launch they are way better than Battlefield 4’s maps which were truly dreadful. Maps are diverse with deserts, mountains, forests, and cities. Weather is dynamic and plays a role in maps with sunny, rain and even fog. You start to see limitations in the setting, as weapons are few with there being one and four variants and all suck except one. There are crates where you can get some skins that surprisingly are not a micro-transaction scheme. The four classes are back Assault, Medic, Support, & Sniper. It is at its essence a Battlefield game you have the large-scale maps with full vehicular warfare. Which lives me to tanks in the game, which are monsters they are so dangerous if you see one by yourself you’re finished. You need your teammates to help destroy it or it will destroy you. New to the series Behemoths that spawn in during conquest and operations they are massive vehicles airships, trains, and dreadnoughts. They are there to turn the tide and if used properly they can lead to a comeback. All the classic modes are back Conquest, Rush, TDM, and Domination. As well as new ones there is capture the pigeon, which is, capture the flag with a pigeon. Operations is a game changer, it takes the legacy modes of rush and conquest and puts it on an epic scale that spans multiple maps. A team with 150 tickets must take the flags on each map I they get three chances. This mode can take an hour to finish and fits well with Battlefields’ battlefields. It’s all so addicting I spend so many late nights playing some multiplayer all with that one more game rabbit hole that only good shooters get me to fall to. Support for the game is going to like Battlefront their will be free maps for those who didn’t buy the season pass which is $50 and includes important war factions like the French and Russians that you have to pay $50 more. That stupid, but regardless whether you will buy the season pass or not Battlefield 1 will get a lot of post-launch support. In conclusion, Battlefield 1 is worth a buy it’s one of the best shooters out this fall and it’s a welcome change from all this future stuff that’s been focused on the Call of Duty franchise. If you are going to skip COD this year this is definitely a great alternative. It’s fun and addictive. If you want a great single player set in WWI Battlefield 1 is a rental. But for those wanting a new multiplayer shooter to sink their teeth into Battlefield 1’s depiction of the Great War won’t leave you disappointed.

BEST VIDEO GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED!
Let me start by telling you that I've been playing video games for over thirty years. I was an 80's Nintendo kid that could never get enough of the original Castlevania. I've been a first person shooter fan for about ten years, my first experience with this genre was Battlefield bad company 2 (AWESOME FPS). All that said though, I've owned this game since its early release and I honestly can say it's the best freaking game EVER created. The graphics, the sound, the gameplay, everything PERFECT! The realism of it melts into youre psyche.I honestly believe that PTSD is a possible issue for people that play this game, that's how freaking real it feels man. I craved WW1 documentaries after the first week of playing. The maps in this game will leave you thinking that you actually visited these places long after turning the game off. This my friends is the best video game ever made. If your a FPS fan, it's a must own. If you're true gamer, put this one in your Hall Of Fame.

Fun but very buggy
The game itself is fairly fun and I like the historical references on weapons and location. However, I really hate how buggy it is. Many times, even after the big update, when exiting a tank sometimes, i get stuck with the wrong weapon. I have tried setting all three subclasses of the main class to the same weapons but it still bugs out at times. Also, when trying to quit the game after a match, you might as well just restart the PS4 or the game itself, as quitting is impossible unless you have the patience for a timeout. Wish they would add a reload UI feature in case of bugs that may resolve on a refresh. Some of the menu scrolling could also be improved in making the algorithm slightly faster without needing a reload each page, just cache it.

Purchase this game now!!!
This game is amazing hands down to Dice. The graphics are so astonishing for online play and having 64 players at once. It is a lot more fun playing with a squad of friends. I found myself slower when it came to just myself playing but with friends and actually going for the objectives like in operations, it makes it so much more fun. Although I love Call of Duty and have since 2007 I always come back to buying a battlefield game because they go into great detail. While I wait for new CODS to come out I see myself playing Battlefield a lot. Usually people are split. I've grown to get used to Battlefield in a good way and its just like Cod in some ways. Coming from a Call of Duty sell out im telling you to BUY BATTLEFIELD ONE you will NOT regret it especially if you love playing strategic games!! It goes into great detail such as Weapon stats, who's squad was the best during the match, Obvious KD and Win ratio, etc. The stats make you strive to be the best and better than your fellow squads or squad members.
