OEM, installed, worked 1st time
I went with a cheap 'replacement' part that listed my B&S engine in my Craftsmen L2000 mower. It never started. I pulled it out. The coil resistance on the original was 5k ohms, the 'replacement' was 10k ohms. Good thing Amazon has an easy return drop off at our neighborhood Kohl's. So, from $15 to $29 I got the Briggs and Stratton part. This even came with a 'feeler' gauge (paper) to set the gap correctly. Started on 1st try, been running fine for a month. This is a time you don't want to go cheap!

Problem fixed
Replacement coil for my lawn tractor. Fits perfect and motor runs great again. Plug connection is different than original. Seems to be insulated already so old boot doesn't fit over it.

End to year long starting issues.
My natural gas standby generator began having starting issues about a year ago. Changed the spark plug worked fine for a few months then the problem started again . Tested spark plug and ignition coil both tested ok. Then changed fuel solenoid, pressure regulator and still no go. Finally replaced the ignition coil and spark plug. No more issues. The coil was a direct replacement with the improved heat shield for the spark plug.
