Fantastic! Beautiful! And Imminently Attractive!If you're a fan of Akira - and you're not married - get this scroll (JUST KIDDING!!!). It's a stunning image, rich with color, character, charisma and the like. Now, I've got 2 additional (very high-quality) wall scrolls, but this thing totally cuts the cake. Simply put, it's STRIKING.1) It's HUGE - if you're looking at this item on Amazon you already know that.2) The colors are rich, deep and mesmerizing. You'd think that a silk scroll (could be) lacking that, due to its delicate nature and semi-transparency. In the words of John Carpenter, "YOU'RE WRONG. DEAD WRONG".3) The imagery represents all that is critical in the film. Other than the obvious, we've got the characters from the film on the top, bleeding out to the right and just a step down with "#26", Takashi - and don't neglect to see Akira's enormous frozen chamber behind Kaneda, who obviously plays front-and-center in this well thought out print.Neo-Tokyo, the stadium and its caricature are at Kaneda's backdrop. The prominent English translation of the word AKIRA is splashed in red on top of the English name in Japanese. This is not only faithful to the film itself, but there's an element to it in this print, that, kind of like the words of THE DUDE, "It really ties the pic together man...".The silver Japanese font on the print emerges brilliantly and catches the eye. It's small enough not to get in the way, but intense enough to accent the print in its entirety. It blends in flawlessly with the image.Finally, this arrived in a very durable cardboard tube.
