You can buy this cheaper at Lowes!
This was an interesting purchase. When item arrived, it came from Lowes (not where it was purchased from) purchased with a Visa that was not mine. The invoice said the purchased amount was $99 plus tax. I paid $133. This is all around shady to me, but I guess maybe that's how 3rd parties make money...? My own fault for not checking local stores. I will purchase the next one from Lowes locally! The light took a few extra hands to install. Looks great, but the Edison bulbs are too dim. I replaced them with 60 watt soft white LED Edison bulbs and it looks great and brighten up my hallway.

Love It Best without the Glass
I really like this fixture in my living room, but to be honest, the design of the glass enclosure and its weight concerned me so I decided to install it without the glass. And I LOVE IT! Much easier to replace light bulbs and it won't collect dust necessitating someone helping me take it down to clean every few weeks. Coincidentally, my friends have the same fixture in their dining room, installed with the glass, and it looks great, but very dusty on the inside. So I think they'll be doing what I did.

Nice appearance, good value, need common sense when installing
These semi-flush mounts have a nice aesthetic and provide plenty of light. We installed them in the kitchen and planned it out slightly differently from the instructions. First, we laid out all the parts (we had purchased two) and noticed the glass shades were totally different in appearance and wall thickness. There shade is a bubbled appearance, which we actually like, but one had fine bubbles and the other had very large bubbles. Oh well. One had a wall thickness that was maybe 1.5x the other, which made it heavier. Fine. Now, as other reviewers have mentioned, the wall thickness may not be uniform, and so you will inherently get tilting of the glass shade, since it balances on a very small flange that is secured via the central threaded shaft. We didn't really care much. The central threaded shaft is adjustable, given it is made of mating parts. So, you can definitely make everything fit correctly, but best to do it before you start installing on the ceiling. Just do a quick assembly for test fit and you can note how far to thread the shaft parts into each other, so that you have enough threads on the end to get the flange to sit sufficiently to hold the glass shade. Another important note is that we installed the glass shade last, it's just less precarious that way. I hate having a glass shade pre-assembled with the shaft and maneuvering to get the mounts and wires connected. Other than that, nothing beyond the normal for installing ceiling lights. Sometimes you need to improvise around the bracket, and use different screws, etc. etc. Any handy homeowner knows what I'm talking about. Overall, a fairly satisfying install.

Difficult installation of beautiful light.
Now that the light is up and working and my spouse and I have decided to stay married after all, I love the fixture. I don’t think I would like it as well without the glass shade though. As for installation, it was a bear. I have installed lots of light fixtures including ceiling fixtures but the instructions were almost useless and the parts were hard to coax together. The screws to mount the bracket to the box were too short so I had to get longer ones. There was a lot of opportunity to adjust the threaded rods to match up but no guidance in the instructions so it was trial and error. Two hour project for two people. Still, it’s beautiful. Can’t wait to take it apart to change bulbs.

Great Light....
We decided to upgrade the ceiling lights throughout most of our house recently and decided that we've take a chance on this light for a busy area in the house. Overall, the light was easy to install based on how it's assembled....the heavy glass portion goes in after things are mounted and ready to support the weight so that makes it easier. The look is actually pretty fantastic for a home with more of a farmhouse, vintage, unrefined design. The fixture does also come with a set of three 60 watt ( I believe) Edison incandescent bulbs. To me they are pretty worthlessly dim and yellow, but the alternative is a warm 2700K LED set of bulbs which end up being WAY too bright for this is in even at that low of frequency. If the glass were frosted, the LEDs may work better for us, but it's not, it's crystal clear.Overall, the finish work, look and the functionality of this fixture is pretty on par with my expectations. For those asking as well, no you can not angle mount this fixture on a sloped ceiling with the hardware provided. you'd need to either purchase other universal mounting hardware to do that or look for another fixture.

Poor design
Poor design of the connection between the light base and the glass shade. The shade is attached to the light base by the small diameter tube and without any additional point of contacts between the base and the shade. As a result, even the small misalignment of that tube leads to the substantial tilting of the shade. And there is no way to strait it up. Returned it back.

Beautiful and strong and classy.
This thing is fine! Good quality and fine looking. I like the heavy, slightly bubbly glass. It kind of makes it have the old world craftsmanship feel, like what a hobbit would have had in his/her house, had Edison or Tesla or Westinghouse, all have been hobbits....although...this would be a big, heavy fixture, perhaps of overwhelming dimensions, in a hobbit's house.
