Handy, with good sound power and good radio tuning
I bought this in order to give it as a present to my mother, who is really fond of listening radio even while sleeping. It tunes finely AM and FM stations. The Bluetooth connection has worked fine for me when pairing the device to our smart TV, my laptop or my smartphone.Until now, its battery has behaved finely, leaving no room to doubt about its performance. A few relatives have praised this speakers' performance and I highly recommend it. It would be brilliant if this device would have wi-fi connection , the closest one can get that being connecting a smartphone to the Internet and then pairing said phone to the speakers, but as it is right now it's really fine.It consists of two twin stereo speakers embedded within a wooden case, they may sound a little muffled maybe due to its bass but to me this is sort of a little flaw.UPDATE: More than a year later and this product keeps being OUTSTANDING. Highly recommended.

Amazing portable table radio
I was looking for a simple FM radio maybe with AUX or BT in for other devices. I almost purchased Tivoli iPal as I had one previously and loved the sound. Oh a whim I clicked the “compare with similar items” on Amazon’s check out page and this item was lists. It had a few more features plus a lithium battery so I took a chance and switched my order. Love it! So far, it’s all pros. Simple to operate, great sound, receives more stations than other radios. Even has a clock and wake to music feature. I like to listen to music at home, but am tired of streaming and wanted live radio. This fit the bill perfectly, I am very please. Will take it camping next week and see how the battery life is.

Decent speaker - not loud, but good sond
I was looking for 3 things: built-in rechargeable battery, FM radio, and bluetooth. This is the only unit I liked that had good ratings on the FM radio as well as the bluetooth. The radio works well and has a telescoping antenna. The output is quieter than I would have liked at 2.5W/ channel (limited to 1.5W/channel on battery), but it has decent sound. Not a lot of bass, but good overall.Controls are a little behind the times, and in bluetooth mode, the time is not displayed. The charging cable is a 5.8Vdc with a small tip, so it can't use a standard USB charging block.

Buttons malfunction!
This Sony Bluetooth radio is superb, sounds nice and well designed. I really enjoy listening to FM radio everyday. After using it for several months, some buttons start to malfunction : FM radio starts to scan stations whenever I press volume down: light starts to dim when I press sleep button: on timer turns on when I press light button: power button is not responsive,it should be pressed several times to turn on the unit. It's getting worse every day, more new buttons malfunction!

a ittle gem
works like a charm-- as advertised..all functions, AM-FM radio, blue-tooth connection, sleep off and wake-up alarm easy to operate and come through perfectly as programmed....sound quality is excellent, if not world-beating...it is a delightful bedroom companion

Excellent Design Marred by Disappointing Sound Quality
In some ways, this is one of the best clock-radio-bluetooth speaker products I've ever used. It looks great. The feature set is nearly ideal. The controls are very intuitive. It has most if not all the connections you would want for a device like this and the Bluetooth works fine. Battery life seems to be good too. It even has a nice big clock with an adjustable backlight that stays on (how many times have you wished for that on a radio?). However, the primary function of this device is to be a radio and an audio speaker, and that's where it really doesn't shine. First of all, there just isn't anything engaging about the sound quality. It's not that it sounds harsh or boomy - it just sounds really middling and lifeless - like they weren't really trying very hard in the audio department. Secondly, while the FM band sounds relatively decent, the AM tuner (what I listen to the most) sounds extremely low bandwidth (i.e.: very rolled off in the highs). It's like they're using the narrowest filter they can get away with without losing all intelligibility. I've heard $20 radios that sound better on AM.Honestly, I really wanted to like this radio, but it just doesn't do it's main job well enough to enjoy or recommend. That's kindof sad because there are alot of products that aren't designed as well as this one in terms of features and user interface. Seems like Sony needs to get their sound quality team working with the team who made this. Then they might really have something!

Nice, compact radio
Our daughter loves listening to the radio in her room. The sound quality is good. We haven’t tested the battery life or Bluetooth connectivity. We use the sleep timer on it nightly and the display has 3 different brightness settings which is helpful to switch between day use and nighttime use.

Battery life will work even after you do.
First off the battery on this thing is seriously impressive. 4-12 hour shifts and taking this on vacation and it’s still on its first charge (only used 1/3 battery). The radio works very well (I work in a small steel walled room inside a steel manufacturing building and it picks up amazing). I do wish the Bluetooth connectivity was easier. It connects to my iPhone very quick but I can’t get it to connect to my wife’s iPhone at all.
