Better than roller ball latches
We have 2 pair of swinging closet doors. Each leaf was kept closed by a roller ball latch, but the threaded sleeves holding the roller balls would gradually creep up over time making the doors difficult to open and close. After 7 years of tightening the sleeves on all four leafs, I grew tired of messing around with roller ball latches. These magnetic catches arrive cleverly, and tightly, packed in small plastic boxes with instructions printed on the label. As others have said, these magnets are very strong. I put one on a metal counter and it was not easy to get it off.On the first set of doors, I installed the magnets on the head above the doors adjacent to the existing roller ball strike plates. (I removed the ball assembly and left its hole open.) I could not find the recommended 15/16” Forstner bit so I used a 1” Forstner bit to drill the holes in the head and in the tops of the doors. (I highly recommend using a Forstner bit. Drilling a pilot hole first is a very good idea.) I left the strikes in place and the installation looks fine. The doors stay nicely closed. The ceiling in our room with the second set of doors was too low for me to drill the doors in place. I thought about removing the doors, but decided instead to remove the metal strike plates and replace them with some pieces I cut from some left over plastic J-mold. I carefully marked and cut the plastic and drilled the holes in the frame for the magnets. The existing roller ball assembly holes in the top of the doors were a perfect fit for the new magnets, but the holes were much too deep to use the supplied screws. I used some some screw-type metal hollow wall anchors and some long screws to secure the magnet in each leaf (see photo). This worked out very well.On both sets of doors I put small adhesive backed bumpers for each leaf on the door stop. They stop the doors from banging against the stop when they close. I did not use the included bumpers because I did not want to drill into the stops. These magnets are a great way to keep a pair of closet doors closed. They are much superior to closet door roller ball latches. They do cost more, but for doors that are used a lot, it is money well spent.

They work REALLY well
TL/DR: 5 stars. Just buy 'em.Ok these little things are AWESOME. I'm sure there is someone, somewhere, out on the internet that will find something to complain about, but I am not them. For the price, they are well built, hold doors VERY well, and save me the massive PITA factor of drilling and setting door locks/hardware.I use these in all my AirBnb builds, which I also do myself, and am constantly trying to find little innovative products to save me time, which is becoming more important than money these days.If you're wondering on specifics, I have mounted them on bathroom doors, closet doors, bedroom doors, bathroom cabinet doors, kitchen doors, and probably a few others I've forgotten about. They hold all of them closed (no locks, buy a latch) and don't wear out, or make noise, or give me any headaches when a guest catches a case of the stupids. They secure to the door with a forstner bit, and a central screw, and have several color plates and adjustment washers, depending on the precision of your door fit. Awesome product.

Awesome product
Well built. The magnets are very very powerful. Works very well to trap and hold my solid wood oversized front door in an extremely windy location on the Colorado Front Range. The door is latchless (which seems to be popular right now). Thought I would need two. Not the case. Easy to install using only a small drill bit and a 1” paddle bit. Installed in about 15 minutes. Looks great as well even though probably no one will ever notice it since it mounts perfectly flush.

Strong and Well Adaptable.
These magnetic door catches are strong and can be adapted for many different fitments. There are spacers / lifters to adjust the distance from the magnet to top plate so that strength can be adjusted and two doors with slightly different spacing to the header can be matched to feel the same as each other. There are also small rubber pads included to attach to the door frame for impact damping. Doors do tend to bounce once or twice when closed, but that could be adjusted with changes to the magnet distance / strength and damping pads. To top it off, there are flat metallic covers that magnetize on to hide the screw holes and give a smooth look. Great product.

Flush fit, smooth operation.
I received these at 4, couldn't find my 15/16" bit so I had to run to the hardware store. Ate dinner. Went to the door. Installed these and put everything away in a half hour. And the door closes more smoothly than it has in years. This is a front door, made of redwood 100 years ago, so relatively heavy. Wish I'd bought these a while back. Now, the important part. I used both on the same door. The first install point was in a large gap (3/8"). The magnets, even with the spacers, could not pull the door shut over that gap. There was some pull, but not enough. So, I installed the second set on the side where the gap was tiny. After I saw that they are close to flush, I knew they'd fit here. The strength is just right now. The auto door lock works perfectly with the magnets lining up the door correctly. I'm set until the next earthquake skews the door again:) If you have a heavy door get the heavier duty set.

worked perfect
great alternative to your typical ball catch that inevitably becomes out of adjustment.
