Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for Canon 128 (Black)

Here's the story. I was in a rush and needed to print about twenty pages. I hit print on the computer and my Canon ImageCLASS D530 starts printing. I'm ready to grab that paper and head out the door, and of course...LINES. LINES all over my paper, light toner, OF COURSE THE PRINTER WANTS TO RUN OUT OF INK AT THE MOST INOPPORTUNE TIME. That's just how it is right?I am super frustrated, so I run over to the local office supply store, I won't say there name because I hate them, but lets just say they have the same name as something that goes inside of an office product. I run in to buy ink and after finding the right toner I see the price is 119.99...yea thast right $120 for a toner cartridge that is for a laser printer that I paid 80 bucks for...talk about frustration. UGH but of course I had no choice, I bought the product and ran back home. In the meantime my wife told me she took the old toner cartridge out and shook it and the printer was printing fine. Perfect, I printed my documents and finished the rest of the day. This gave me time to find a cheaper alternative, or even buy a new printer.I saw this EPS replacement cartridge on Amazon for 20 bucks. Wait, what? yea 20 bucks with free shipping. Screw it, I'm buying it, if it doesn't work I can still buy a new laser printer and come out to cheaper than the toner from the office supply store. Oh as a side note, the same toner on the Canon website was cheaper than the office supply store, ridiculous. I bought this cartridge, got it in the mail, shoved it in my pritner and it works PERFECTLY. I expected the first few pages to have dots, marks etc things that happen when you buy non-OEM stuff, but there was none of that.its a good thing I was able to return the other cartridge I would've been very upset, to say the least. I've been using this toner for about two-three weeks and it works just like OEM. I'm actually purchasing a second one just to have it on standby in case I run into the same situation again.The only thing I haven't been able to know is how long the ink will last. If i can get through a ream of paper with this toner still working I will be a satisfied customer. Hopefully that happens. I recommend this product for the Canon ImageCLASS D530 i can't speak for any other printers.

REVIEW UPDATE: I ordered a few of these and they worked well, until I got one that didn't work well at all and possibly broke my printer. There is an HP version and a Canon version of this cartridge that are supposedly interchangeable, but they actually look different, and although they will fit, they DO NOT function the same in my printer. After using the HP-style cartridge in my Canon printer, not only was the print quality bad but my printer broke. My printer was under warranty, and Canon replaced it (bless them) at no charge to me, even though I admitted that I had not been using genuine Canon cartridges. They said it did not void the warranty to use an aftermarket cartridge. But still, the loss of productivity dealing with the printer issue changed my mind about trying to save a few dollars with these cartridges and now I only buy the original Canon cartridges.If you buy this, make sure the one you receive looks exactly like the one you are replacing on the sides. If it does not, insist they send you an actual Canon type one and not the supposedly compatible HP one.I am leaving 3 stars because the seller was very helpful as far as refunding the cost of the cartridge etc.ORIGINAL REVIEW: After having problems with a different brand of Canon compatible cartridge (Blake Printing) I was highly skeptical of trying another low cost compatible cartridge. This one by EPS has worked perfectly however and represents a great value over the authentic Canon cartridge. If the yield does not match up I will update this review. So far so good.

I must admit I was a little skeptical about the quality of using generic toner in my printer, but let me put your fears to rest. This has been a fantastic product so far in my experience. I have a Canon Imageclass MF4890dw printer that I grabbed as an excellent deal about a year ago at a staples for only $69 open box. Great printer by the way. The problem is that the manufacturer's toner goes for over $80 a piece. As you can imagine, I was less than impressed about that price and decided to see what Amazon had to offer. Once the starter toner began to die (which lasted a while itself) i ordered this. Once I could shake up the starter toner no more and still force a good print or 2 I installed this and hoped for the best. Luckily, I literally could not tell the difference between the Canon toner and this! I am sold! Especially at price point of only $20, this is literally less than a quarter of what the manufacturer toner costs. I will definitely be buying this again!

OK so this was my second attempt at purchasing an OEM or third party manufacturer of toner cartridges. My first experience with another one was an immediate return due to black lines on the right side of every page printed. I took another chance with this maker and so far I've had no problems. No toner over print, splotches etc. I cannot say whether I will get the advertised prints at this time, because I print very few pages a day. A toner cartridge may last me a year or more with my usage. There have been no leaks etc.Overall I'm happy with the purchase. My suggestion to anyone would be; buy one when you still have toner left and try it immediately once you receive it. Unlike ink tanks it won't go to waist if you don't use it. And of course the price was right.

The cartridge works fine. But the ink is mediocre. The print from my former Canon cartridge is much darker and bolder than this. Plus the ink from this smears if you rub it with any significant amount of pressure, although it holds up fine for most uses. Still, it's a great deal as long as these flaws are acceptable to you. I haven't made up my mind whether I'll buy this product again.Update (now 4*): The sellers contacted me and offered to send a replacement cartridge. The new cartridge has solid, dark ink. It still smears slightly if I apply pressure, but the smearing is very slight and only when I try to cause it. Hopefully the new cartridge is representative of their typical quality.
