Why did you pick this product vs others?:My dog loves them. Nice and small. Great for training.

The small size, soft texture, and relatively strong meaty smell make these ideal training treats. We keep them in places where we're working on a training issue with our Pitt-Staffy mix, who would gladly eat the mailman, but is instead beginning to connect his arrival with tasty treats. She must turn her head to the side, looking away from the mailman to get one treat. We repeat this many, many times until he has delivered the mail and moved on. Then we go out to get the mail and present it to her with a few treats on top. Her manic and scary reaction to the mailman has abated greatly and you can see the wheels in her head turn as she struggles to balance her emotional response to an interloper with her desire to get a treat and be told she's a good girl and coping successfully. For this type of training project, because they are shelf stable and a great small size, these treats are much more practical than bits of cheese or hot dog.

My dogs absolutely love these treats. I like them because they have very few calories and my dogs enjoy them. They are very effective as enticements for training!

These treats are perfect training treats for puppies. They're my dog's all time favorite treat. They're small and easy to break apart into smaller pieces if you have a small dog. The price for this bundle of two can't be beat. My only complaint is that the treats I received from Amazon are way harder and more crumbly than usual. When I've bought these in stores they have been more soft and squishy, and easier to rip into smaller pieces.

Purchased before always fine

We've been getting these for years now. That's coming to an end. I've already opened one of the two 16oz packs we bought. I'm sending the other back though. They've obviously changed the formula and put more filler. These are fresh and not anywhere near as pliable as they've always been. Hard. They're smaller in size as you can see in the picture. And worse yet... Much more expensive. I mean, if you're going to raise the price that much, at least have the decency to keep the quality the same. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Treats are fresh and soft, however, these seem to have a high sodium content (smell) like most treats in this category. I cannot say for certain since the manufacturer does not identify the amount of sodium content, only that there is salt. The treats also impact my oldest dog's stomach.
