Nick NK is an awesome dude in the field of econ. The book delivery time was standard. I got the paper back version. The paper quality is good, not "pulp-y".

This book was used as a part of my Econometric class. It is an excellent introduction and the supplemental software packages the writer created are amazing. I highly recommend this nook for all economics students and professionals!

Nick did a terrific job in explaining complex concepts in a very accessible way. A skill any writer would kill to have.

I appreciate the code snippets in Stata, R and Python for every example. There is some lively language in the book to lighten up some rather dry concepts. See my picture for an example.The author intentionally avoided writing mathematical equations but chose to describe in plain English how the calculation is done. I personally find it hard to follow because the English explanation for something like 1284+8364/8274 needs generalization to be applied to other cases. What do the three numbers represent for example? Readers are left to devise their own equations. This book is definitely not designed to be a quick reference book but a practical / first introduction of experiment design.Compared to Scott Cunningham's causal inference the mixtape, this book can sometimes feel like rambling on around the subject instead of getting straight to the point. "The mixtape" definitely flows much smoother than "the effect" with more succinct language. However, given the amount of typos in "the mixtape", if you must choose one printed copy between these two books, I still recommend this book.

Just finished my graduate causal inference class and NHK saved my life! From his YouTube channel to this book, NHK breaks down the most complex methods for you to understand with multiple examples.The Mixtape was the book we used for the class, but when paired with The Effect, you can truly master the concepts.

This book does a great job of laying out the absolute basics and then building upon them through each chapter. Its easy to understand and a great resource for a beginner learning about causal inference.
