Story time. One evening I was home alone doing my normal nightly routine. Part of that routine is taking supplements before I go to bed. For whatever reason, my brain thought it was a good idea to speed the process and take all the supplements at once. Three of these pills were the extra-large fish oil capsules. Immediately, it went very very wrong. One or all got lodged in my throat sideways. I panicked because I couldn't breathe at all. Looking around for anything to help or try to figure out what to do. Nothing. I dropped to my knees on the floor and thought to myself - wow, this is the way I'm going to die... by fish oil. Pure terror. All of the sudden I gagged and it dislodged. I IMMEDIATELY researched the best device for choking. I'm not confident I could use the chair method on myself (obviously not what my brain went to first, anyway). Everything pointed to LifeVac Home Kit. I was still shaking as I hit "buy now". I read the instructions thoroughly and used the practice one on myself. It's now sitting right on my pantry shelf, easily accessible. (I actually took it on vacation with me as well). I am going to order another one for my car. The odds of it happening again- I realize are pretty slim, but just the security of this device in my home is so comforting. Side note *do not ever take more than one large fish oil capsule at a time

Everybody should seriously have this life-saving device in their home. My husband unfortunately choked and I did the Heimlich maneuver on him. I’m so relieved that it worked and he is alive and well. I’ll never forget the absolute terror in that moment knowing that maneuver was my only hope, and I had no backup options if it didn’t work. Having the LifeVac in my home gave me such peace of mind knowing if choking ever happens again in my home, I have a second line of defense. It takes up as much space as a phone book. It’s small enough to put in my diaper bag or in the car for use on the go. I luckily have no clue how strong the suction is- haven’t needed to use it yet and hopefully never will. For safety, everybody should put this in their home.

I purchased one of these as apart of a gift for a baby shower thinking that everyone with kids would want to know they have this option if it ever came down to that moment, that no one ever wants to experience in their life, especially with a child. My friend absolutely loved it, and many others complimented me on it seeing the value of it in the long run. Since, I have purchased one for our own home, and Camper to know I have that emergency back up if it was ever needed. I have yet to use it and of course pray I never do, but knowing I have that with me and have the device near by if it ever came down to it gives me peace of mind. I am certified in CPR and dealing with emergency situations and know how to handle a situation if I did no have this device, but I also know not everyone has that background. With that being said, I would recommend getting one of these. I also say get CPR certified and have that certification and experience to deal with real life emergency situations, but this is also a great additional tool to have just in case.

Luckily, we have not had to use this device so far, but it makes us feel a bit more at ease with a baby that is just getting into solid foods. We take this on trips, just to have in case of an emergency. The device seems very solid and has multiple sizes for the face/suction portion. It's relatively straight forward, but again, haven't had to use it so I can't speak to the effectiveness. I do imagine that it's better than not having a suction device if choking were to occur.It may seem pricey, however should you ever unfortunately need it, I think it's worth every penny.

If you don't have one of these, you need to get one asap! I have a 10 month old learning to eat solids... Since I purchased this, I have used it twice and it worked like a charm both times. First time she got a hold of a sticker from her older brother and it got stuck in her throat and the second was a piece of strawberry and both came right up! This makes me feel confident that my child is safe from choking accidents and I don't need to panic!

So far I am thankful I saw this product and purchased it, this could be a lifesaver if your kids choke. Thankfully I have yet to have to use it on my own kids but I keep one in my kitchen and I keep one in my car just in case I do end up needing it on hand to use for my three year old toddler. It makes me feel safer when giving out grapes or hotdogs or when she has small toys and is playing with them in case she puts them into her mouth. Thanks so much
