I just bought these and they are not extremely sticky. I would think with a blow dryer set to hot you’d be able to remove them.

It depends on the type of shoe and how much cushioning in the tongue you need, and How thick your socks are and not so much on the size of your feet. I’m guessing that if you’re putting them in on the tongues of a pair of men’s wingtips, the medium size would be fine, if the socks you’re going to wear are thin men’s dress socks.

I wear a 6.5 shoe and got the medium. They have adhesive backing and I'm using them in a shoe with buckles. They should fit in your running shoe if they are not already snug. I'd not be able to wear my Dr. Marten Mary Jane's without them. Top of my feet are bony.
