I wish to drill a hole just large enough for the ethernet cable in the wall, so is it possible to make all connections in the hollow fixing bracket?

Yes. The mounting arm is hollow so you can run the cables through it.

Does the dome turn or is it just a camera inside the dome that turns?

inside only. it's not really enclosed in a dome really, though I've had the thing in torrential downpours and it's just at the edge of the soffit on the corner of my house and no issues.

Onvif compatible? Which onvif version?

It is ONVIF compatible. Not sure of the version. I am using it with Blue Iris 5 and works fine.

I need a system that is not connected to the internet. i run linux but would like to just operate the camera from an nvr. possible? what's needed?

Firstly, the camera comes with DHCP so you don’t have to configure its IP and should be able to use Xeoma/Zoneminder in Linux for controlling PTZ and live viewing. For NVR, it is necessary to know whether the NVR supports ONVIF protocol to see if it would work with our camera. Thanks!
