Yes, it will. Any thermostat for use in a refrigerator will basically work (so long as it can handle the current load) as its temperature range is that of a refrigerator. The other two variables are its cycle time and it's fit. This is a refrigerator thermostat, so that's one down. It's fitment is a direct fit for the GE WR9X570, so that's two down. It's cycle rate is not adjustable, but how it's set at the factory works perfectly in my 20 year old GE. One point to mention - When installing, you likely will have to adjust the capillary tube to fit. That's about as easy as it gets… just be careful and don't bend it so far that it kinks.

Q: For this Wr9X499 to operate properly should the capillary tube touch the evaporator coil, or just stick out into the air?

I wound mine so it suspended itself in the air since it is trying to get an accurate air temperature inside the refrigerator. I figured if it touched the coil it could throw off the reading. I am no refrigerator expert so if you hear from one and they tell you different go with that. Plus the original tube did not touch.

I ordered this piece because it was the closest thing to the part I needed for my TFX25pp ge fridge. Turns out it worked. The only thing is that the metal wire is shorter but it still works.
