Poor Circuit parts used on this kit. Increase your QC!
Whichever manufacture you're using, is installing extremely poor quality chips, you are also not doing enough random quality control builds. For the price of the unit I can use a full Arduino setup/programming for the same thing, I expect better quality from a DIY group. The circuit design has great potential. My issue is the unit would power on, charge the battery, then as soon as I powered the unit on with speakers attached it would only play clicks through the speakers. I did get it to stop doing this only once, but when playing music the popping sounds started again and then blew one of the speakers.

Cool product...just missing a part.
My kits were incomplete. Both were missing a headphone cable to plug in near the end of the build. I overcame this by soldering an additional 3 wires in from what I had laying around.I like the product and it was a good experience for my children. I recommend also having the detail soldering completed as an option for lesser experienced buyers.

Three Stars
I enjoyed putting it together. It was smaller than I expected. The sound-volume could be larger.

Poor sound quality not loud at all
Would be good as a learning tool but for the price it is not loud at all and has no volume adjustment like you cant hear it over a fart I was gonna use it and have a cool speaker I built ..... but its only use is as a paper weight this kit should be as a wireless headphones kit because it sounds awesome if you hold it to you ear

It was a cool project for our STEM Club
It was a cool project for our STEM Club. The instructions were decent to follow, just be sure to READ the instructions, not just follow pictures. Also, be sure keep the wires as short as possible, that way the assembly of the box will be easier.

Since this isn't available anymore, try this.
Since these aren't available any more, go to a dollar store and buy a $10 bluetooth mono or stereo. open the case take out the module and battery and hook up some three to four inch speakers ( $3.oo and up) you have have a really good sounding system that is as good as most of the $100 and up.
