Very good product - relieves low back pain
I bought this as a sufferer of chronic back pain, hoping it would help manage the condition. I have to say I am very happy with the results. The first time I used this was a bit difficult and quite uncomfortable... I think it was due to years of poor posture, lack of stretching, and a weak core. It was tough to be on it even for the recommended 5 minutes... even on the lowest setting. However I kept at it, and started using this daily (sometimes twice in a day), and I've noticed a SIGNIFICANT reduction in back pain along with improved flexibility. Some days I'm able to spend ~15 minutes on it in one session - which sets me up nicely for a day practically free of pain.I almost always use this on the 2nd setting (there are 3) as it is the most comfortable for me, while still allowing me to feel the stretch. I usually use a pillow under my head for added comfort. Be aware that it is a bit difficult to roll off of it at the end of your session (this is the recommended way to get off of it - don't try to sit up right away). Your back will be sore and you'll experience some discomfort - however I look at that as a small price to pay for several hours of relief. My back is doing a lot better (knock on wood) and I believe this product really helped accelerate the healing process. I can't recommend it enough.

Takes the edge off the pain
It does give me some relief with my herniated disc. It is a little awkward laying on the floor. I make sure I'm facing the television making the time go by faster. It is easy to store. With my arthritic hands I had a hard time adjusting the white plastic piece. Over all it is a descent product for the price.

One of the only things I've ever found for relief
I have dealt with sciatic nerve pain for over 10 years now. I have tried hot pads, cold pads, back brace, lumbar support seat cushions, massage therapy, chiropractor, hot tub jet massage, stretches, physics therapy, exercise, prescription medicine such as ibuprofen (high dose), diclofenac, gabapentin, topical pain relief medicines and lotions, also cortizone shot procedures, probably more things i can't even remember right now. Only 3 things have ever helped me.1. Laying in bed for several days taking tons of medicine until the nerve swelling went down.2. Being fully submerged in water helped take the weight off and actually felt pretty good, but only for the time actually being in water.3. This product. I don't know what it is, somehow it is the perfect shape, but it gives so much pain relief and I'm incredibly impressed.I'm not usually one to leave reviews but this lumbar back support stretcher is so good for me that I hope this review will help someone else.I'm a 31 year old male that is in pretty good shape other than my back problems. My pain is right down almost on my tailbone. The pain spreads out into my hips, and the mostly goes down the back side of my right leg. This product is extremely durable, and I like that it is adjustable. I just lay on it flat on the floor for about 10 minutes and I'm good to go. I frequently do long car trips for work (4 hr. Commute once a week) and my back feels completely wrecked by the end of it. Once i get to my destination, I use this for 10-15 min and the pain is completely gone.Great product! Wish I would have discovered it years ago!

Does not work for me on the lowest setting
On the positive side, it's lightweight, easy to assemble, and provides good lumbar support if placed on a seat. On the negative side, In the lowest setting, the white lumbar piece collapses almost flat under the weight of my lower back and I am only 170 pounds. In the 2nd position it is extremely uncomfortable, feels too short to provide even support, and the black under layer protrudes out and presses against my back. The 3rd setting is probably best for a young gymnast. I did not try that position. Compared to a medically issued lumbar extender that I borrowed from a friend, this unit is flimsy and at least for me, ineffective. The only use that could possibly give me any benefit is placing it on a seat back to help my posture while seated.

More than just a stretching device!
This device is the absolute best device I have tried. I have cervical spinal stenosis, thorax and lumbar issues. I start with placing the device in the thorax area. I lay on it for a short while, breathing, like yoga breathing, them slowly moving the device downwards to the lumbar area, and all the way down to the lower back. Inch by inch and step by step I treat my entire spine and the muscles. I started out on the lowest level, and it hurt a great bit, so I could not lay on it for too long, a few seconds was all I could take. Now I can easily do 30 seconds on the highest level. In addition to stretching, it seems like it is also working a bit chiropractic. I feel and hear my joints crack and adjust, just like if a chiropractor was working on them. Even the stomach reacts, by rumbling. I get up slowly, and stretch my beck the opposite way before getting all the way up. I also lay on the side on the device. I have a deep pain somewhere around my shoulder blade area. It is so deep within in that I cannot locate it to massage it. It pinches and burns all the way out in my arm. When I lay on the side, I slowly move my body to find the spot, and I stretch it as much as I can bare. It has helped tremendously! It's almost unbelievable. One last thing I do, is my neck. I turn the device sideways, position my neck on it, and turn my head side to side, holding on each side for a few seconds (or more) at a time. It stretches the side of my neck, and it somewhat adjusts the joints as well.
