Perfect for the dorm!
Updated review: I bought this little pot for my daughter a couple weeks ago. When it arrived, the handle was broken. When I returned the pot citing the damage, I received a personal email from the company the very next day offering me to send me a new pot at no cost. The new pot arrived yesterday - handle intact! It is every bit as cute as the picture promises (we ordered the white one with a black cat). My daughter immediately boiled water in it to make mac-n-cheese and we are both pleased with the way it works. Another review mentioned that the pot is small, but for one person, it's perfect. It's big enough to cook a box of mac-n-cheese or ramen noodles - which is primarily what she will use it for. I think this is a great little gadget - well worth the price. And I am very pleased with the quality of the customer service. My impression is that this company cares a great deal about providing a quality product and making sure their customers are satisfied.

Boils Water Quickly
This pot works very well, however, it should be noted that it is made for boiling water ONLY. Making hard boiled eggsin it is fine, but do not try to use this pot for warming soup or milk for making hot cocoa, because the pot is not lined with teflon, and ingredients other than water will burn and stick to the bottom of the pot.

Love this little hot pot. Great for travel and quick cooking.
I used to have one of those cheap American plastic hotpots, but when the nonstick coating on the bottom cooking plate started flaking off into the food it was time to replace. I chose this pot, and I love it! The cat design is cute, the entire inner pot is metal rather than plastic, and it comes with a separate glass lid and plastic steamer tray. This little pot is great for quickly boiling eggs. I use the steamer basket according to directions and the eggs come out perfectly. I have also used it for ramen. It was great to take along on my trip so I could heat up ramen and soup at the hotel we stayed at. It boils water very quickly. If you forget and the water boils out, it has an auto-shut off feature which is nice. It did get the water spots on the bottom that people have mentioned, but they seem to clean up with white vinegar.

Accept its limitations & Fall in Love (update: then be disappointed by plastic taste)
I'm a sucker for cats and little functional things. It's got a cat. It's tiny and functional! Yes, it's potless so you worry about water in the plug depression. Yes, the steamer is food grade but probably has bpa in it and rendered useless if you're that kind of person (I am). No, it doesn't have temperature control but from hours wasted reading other mini hot pot reviews, even the ones that have more than one setting don't go down low enough for a genuine simmer which is why none of these hot pots say they're good for cooking rice (sadly). Unless all you're doing is boiling hot water you can basically never walk away from this thing but between strategically taking the lid off, stirring, adding fluids, and turning it on/off it acts like a pot on a stove, a super temperamental stove. There's an amazing portable Crock Pot that only goes up to 165 degrees from what I can tell which is closer to an actual simmer temp. It only holds 20 oz but if I took that and this adorable hot pot I'd be 100% confident I'd always have a warm meal on the road or at the office. Between that, my sous vide I'd be pretty comfortable in a hotel indefinitely. Omg, that stupid little cat is so cute.update: when i actually ate my oatmeal it tasted plastic-y/off. such a disappointment. may your pot not suffer from this disease.

so it was nice to find something compact like this to travel with ...
I travel very often. so it was nice to find something compact like this to travel with me. However, it was a big disappointment when I received this product. I am returning it for the following reasons.1. It took more than 10 minutes to boil half pot of water.2. The quality of this pot is very very low. it is not solidly built. the stainless pot is loosely wrapped by a very thin layer of plastic. the handle is also a part of the thin plastic wrapper. when you are holding the pot by the handle. you can feel that they are not solidly built. especially when the pot is hot and the plastic wrapper become soften. the stainless pot is rocking while holding the pot. The handle is also very awkward to hold. It is slippthe upper portion is thicker and the lower end is thiner. So it feel like it could slip out of your grip anytime while holding it.You have been warned

NOT travel friendly!
I bought this hot pot specifically for my trip to Europe last week after reviewing many similar items online about dual voltage use and this was the one mentioned that can be used overseas with the voltage change. My issue was that no one mentioned the prongs on the plug of this hot pot came in DOES NOT fit into most of the universal adapters out there. I've traveled with my own adapter without any problems with other gadgets but this was the first time I had to go out to get another adapter, which I tried in several department stores in Spain and none of them fit either. Needless to say, this hotpot was useless for the trip and a total disappointment. Brought it back in the suitcase unused.

Good, portable, and easy to use.
I use this pretty regularly, and I have to say, I would like for the bowl to be removable for cleaning. Otherwise it's a 10/10 product, and I like the design, it's cute looking haha. And the size is easily portable, it's easy to use, and fairly easy to clean. Also, be sure to clean right after cooking and wipe it dry, any water left in the pot will stain it or rust the pot basically. But it isn't that bad, I love the thing.

Great Hotpot!!!
LOVE this pot. I use it to heat up water for my tea. Does a good job. Low wattage so now I don't have to worry about the manager screaming at me for tripping the breakers. (And my neighbors). Would buy again.
