Works great on a trike.
This attachment works great on a trike with a single rear wheel. It is much more secure than trying to attach the original mounting bracket to the frame. As for sturdiness, it is pretty much indestructible. It is made of steel, not the cheap "pot metal" (Google it) used by the cheaper brands. I can see how it might act as a lever to unscrew the axel nut and it might interfere with other attachments. That would depend on the make/model of trike.

Just what I needed for the dogs and my sweet new bike!
I've had the Walky Dog which connects to the seat post for years and always hated how it would twist under enough pressure. The clamping mechanism could be improved. The overall fuctionality of the device is a must have for running my dogs with the bike. I got a really sweet cruiser lately and this was just the solution given the seat post would have been troublesome to mount (both height and positon). This mount installed easily and has worked great, event with my two dogs pulling at times.Note: While I won't take a star away for it, depending on how secure your rear axel mounting is, you may want to put a zip strip around this and the rear fork to keep it from rotating if the dog pulls. I had this issue at first due to the angle I mounted it, but have since put it more horizontally, tightening it up and no longer have an issue. A zip strip would have worked too, just to further help keep it in place. Star washer might be a good solution as well.Picture included is of one of my foster dogs posing with the newly mounted walky dog, before we went for a casual walk.

Works but there's a lot of room for improvement
This adapter works for what it says it does, but I'm honestly disappointed at the options that are not provided with the Walky Dog. I love the Walky Dog leash part (the metal rod with the springy leash) as that really helps from my 70lb pup not pulling me over on my bike when we pass other dogs and he tries to pull towards them to greet them (which is something we are still working on training him not to do, so I get that he needs further training to help with our "issue" here). My problem with the Walky dog is that I cannot find a good place to put it on my bike. The original connector it came with was meant to attach to the pole under the bike seat, which would be great except for the majority of the pole under my bike seat was too wide to attach it, and the part that isn't is a section used to adjust the height of my seat, which turns when pulled on. So the connector would loosen that adjuster and would allow for the dog to move the Walky Dog anywhere on that side of my bike (which typically would end up with him going faster than me because he loves to run, and then the Walky Dog leash would get stuck under my leg which would make it so I can't petal my bike anymore, so he would just be pulling me down the road.)So I purchased this connector hoping this would be better, but I don't like the fact that it puts the dog by the back wheel and out of my line of sight. I like to be able to see him so we can coordinate the bike ride with verbal commands and I can predict when he is going to get excited about something, etc. So I installed it turned so it is angled forwards, which puts him at a better position for me to kinds watch him, but I still have to sort of bike with my head slightly turned so I can see him. The other day he stumbled and I didn't know what happened, and it yanked so hard it flipped the connector backwards and loosened the bolt on my tire. So I guess that is one bad reason for having it installed the way I do.The other problem I've noticed, which I remember was mentioned in another review, is that this could be unsafe given the weight is now moved to a non-centered location on the bike, so it make the bike slightly unbalanced. Thankfully I have a good sense of balance and can accommodate this change in balance, but I would not recommend this for people who don't have the greatest sense of balance or may have a problem with managing sudden bike movements from the back tire.So we will make this work for now, but it would really be nice if Walky Dog would come out with other connector options given the different bike styles and stuff. But for an experienced cyclist who can handle the issues mentioned below, this will work for your current needs if you can't find anything else.

It is a good piece, but I find that the carabiner bungee cord is better for the dog. This is so far behind me I cant see the dog to make sure I am not going too fast. Not the products fault since it is to attach to the back wheel. The dog just doesn't run as fast as I thought he would. also I had it installed and they put it on the left side instead of the right, which puts my dog in the middle of the road

I’ve owned WalkyDog bike arms for years
I own 2 of your WalkyDog bike attachments. They have lasted out both our old Nova Scotia Duck Tollers and are still going with our 2 new Tollers. The Duck Tollers are very energetic hunting bread and require exercise. Our attachments are over 10 yrs old and still going on our next generation of Toller. In the past I had taken the seat attachment and re-worked it to hold the arm down near the rear wheel. It worked well but when we seen this rear attachment was available we had to get it for our new bikes. I tried it as advertised in this add and it worked great but I decided for my purposes I could improve on it a bit. Buy drilling a hole into the body and machining it a bit it It enabled me to take away all most all the flex and distribute the load of the attachment over a larger area. Note. Our new “IGO” bikes and our “Giant “and “Specialized “ bikes all have a predrilled and threaded hole at the location just above and to the rear of the rear wheel mounting bolt. Bike in this add has it as well. This put the arm in a rear but upwards angle that keeps the arm from poking the dog occasionally. Which they soon get over when they get to run some more. Thanks for making a product that has lasted us through our family of energetic dogs.

Super Alternative zur Befestigung unterhalb des Sattels
Macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Leichte Montage.
