A Truly Great Small Flashlight.
This is a truly amazing little LED flashlight. It has the lowest low setting I've ever seen on an LED flashlight. That low setting is perfect for navigating around the house at night when I don't want to wake up my wife. The middle setting is very bright, and the high setting is startling for such a small AAA-powered flashlight. the small diameter, and pocket clip will allow you to carry the flashlight around in the corner of a pants pocket where it will not be in the way, but will always be available to you should you need it. Considering the versatility of this flashlight, the price of around $20.00 is reasonalbe. I've owned tens of LED flashlights from a few lumens all the way up to 8500 lumens, and of all the flashlights I've owned this is in the upper 2 for both quality, and overall usefulness. I can easily recommend this one to anyone needing a decently priced good flashlight.

Great Penlight, Great Price
I received the ThorFire PF04 penlight the other day, and after listening to my wife gripe about why I need another flashlight, I explained that there were a lot of other things I could be doing that are a lot worse than collecting flashlights. Leaving her to think this over, I proceeded to go test out my new flashlight.Since there are plenty of reviews that go over the same info, I'll just say that this is a great light. The low light is a little too low for me, but the high setting more than makes up for it. The beam on the mid and high settings is white, bright and clean and it throws a nice distance. The only thing I don't like is the slick surface on the barrel. I prefer knurling, but I knew when I bought this that it was a smooth surface, so I can't complain. I like how the on/off switch works and I appreciate the firmness of the button that makes it difficult to turn on accidentally.I like the light and recommend it to anyone searching these reviews for advice, and I look forward to buying more flashlights from ThorFire,

It was a wonderful light for the 3 months it worked.... Please read updates!
Just loved this light until it stopped working. Never missed a beat. Now I didn't use it outside. Kept it in the house, the "moonlight" setting was wonderful at night, move around the house and check things with out a lot of light to wake you or the family up.Then it acted strangely with a low batter. I replaced the battery's that seemed to not have been used much. By the amount of time I used it seemed to drain them very fast. Then it just stopped working. If I screwed the bulb end on and off it worked again a couple times, then stopped completely.:(UPDATE: 2-29-2016Company stood by there product. I've had the replacement for over a month now, works as good as the first, so its a wonderful light. Hoping it lasts.UPDATE: 3-25-2016Still going strong, use it daily!

Fantastic Value for the Quality
This has been in my EDC for the last 3 months. It has been fantastic. No accidental turning on or battery drain. I use this at least 3-4 times a day when I take my dogs out after dark. The button is still working great, the clip still retains properly and finish has held up in a stellar fashion. The 3 modes take a little bit of practice to switch between smoothly, but once you learn them it is not a big deal. I love the fact that it remembers the last setting you were on. Many flashlights in this category do not have that feature. The levels High/Low/Moonlight are all useful for their own purposes. The flashlight is, of course, better up close, but it has throw enough to cover the back quarter acre of our property. High will outshine more incandescent flashlights and doesn't get uncomfortably hot. Medium is a nice compromise of visibility without blinding anyone in front of you. Moonlight at first seemed like a joke... it was just so dim. However, one night I came home late after my wife was in bed, so instead of turning on a light I used moonlight mode entering the room. Once your eyes adjust, moonlight really does give you just enough light to see without disturbing anyone around you.All around, I think this is a tremendous value. This can easily compete head-to-head with offerings from Streamlight, Olight, Fenix and Nitecore. I will definitely be buying a couple more for myself and gifts!

Great light if you can get used to the switch.
While I like the super bright capability of 210 lumens, I wish there was a different way of actuating it. The 3 click modes take some getting used especially when you hand it to someone else to use who doesn't realize how it works. Light does get warm when using the max setting, but I don't use it long since the battery drain is high at the max setting. Have yet to use the moonlight low setting and wish it either wasn't there or could be programmed out since its easy to accidentally leave it on in this mode. Overall, fit the bill for a penlight at a price that was reasonable.

I'm impressed
This flash light has lived up to expectations and some of the reviews that I have read. The bright is very bright the medium is very useful for close work, but the flirefly was the most interesting of all. I was able to read at a close distance and also navigate with the 1 Lumen light. I recently took it to the beach where it performed well with one exception. I had left it in my pocket when I took it swimming. And the O-ring on the flashlight appeared to the field as moisture was evident in the lens. The only Improvement I would make would be to make a channel for a stronger and tougher o- ring. I did not expect to need a new o-ring on the first set of batteries. The company has sent two O rings I just didn't expect to use them so soon.As for overall quality I cannot tell yet how well the switch is going to last. However would I buy this flashlight again .... yes I would.

Excellent budget penlight that runs on common cells
While searching for a decent AAA flashlight that was better than those dim multi-LED lights that take 3xAAA cells in a holder, I came across this great penlight. It only takes 2xAAA, but supplies significantly more light than those cheaper lights because it has a much brighter LED and has the circuitry to properly use it.The light has 3 brightness modes (no strobe mode), a strong pocket clip, and is at least fairly water-resistant (as it has o-rings and greased threads to keep out the water). There aren't really any other features, but that's fine since all I was really looking for was something reliable and bright. It's also emits a much whiter light than those cheap AAA lights, which are frequently bluish.I'd really recommend carrying around a light like this - it fits well in a pocket or bag, and the button is firm enough that you won't accidentally switch it on. For the best performance, use NiMH rechargeable AAA cells with this flashlight - other battery types like alkaline can't supply the amount of current this light demands, and won't last as long as a result.

Great everyday-carry flashlight in a compact format.
Really a great flashlight. Elderly eyes require more light, so I carry it in my shirt pocket along with a pen. The "moonlight" mode (0.5 lumen) is great when you get up in the night: plenty of light to see by, and leaves your night vision undisturbed. The brighter light is fine for most needs, with the brightest setting available when you need it. Has a memory, so that it turns on to the setting it had when you turned it off, which is convenient. Uses AAA batteries (two), rather than hard-to-find batteries.UPDATE: I had one that stopped working after a year of use. Switch wouldn't work, but it was a good light while it lasted, so I bought another. The second one also failed after a year of use. Don't count on it working more than a year.

Quality penlight
This deceptive little penlight has much better functionality than traditional penlights. I came cushioned between two large slabs of foam, so it was well protected. It also came with extra rings so the rings could be replaced if they wore out, and that indicates to me that they expect this light to last a very long time.It took two AAA batteries, which were not included. It has an LED light, so it doesn't draw much power and I expect the batteries will last a long time with it. It can be clipped to a pocket easily, or just as easily a pocket on a purse. I pushed the top and the light came on. I pushed the top lightly and the intensity became brighter. It cycles through each of the three brightness level and then shuts off.The body of this light is very sturdy and the threaded for the battery section very smooth and I'm happy with the quality of the light.I received a discount for this LED penlight, in return for my honest and unbiased opinion. I depend on reviews when I am purchasing something, and I believe consumers should be able to trust the reviews they read. This review is my honest opinion and I hope you find it helpful.

Great inexpensive rugged penlight
Been using this for a couple of weeks and it works great. Love the moonlight setting for nighttime - dunno why some reviewers dont seem to think it's useful. It certainly saves my night vision. Mid setting is bright enough for regular use. Also like the tap function to cycle thru the three brightness settings. Fits in my front pocket easily, strong clip, water resit, and came with extra o-ring as advertised. Feels really solid. I use it with regular AAA batteries and so far so good. Definitely recommend.

I loved the first one...
I really liked this light - thin, bright and hi quality - I carried it as a mechanic for over 2 years before I lost it. Bought a replacement that quit working in less than a month. I think the quality has dropped off with these and they are not what they once were.
