This frame is great! Solid wood all around and very sturdy
Looked locally and couldn't find a wooden screen door that had a solid wood frame. They all seemed to be finger-jointed, pieced together scraps making the frame. This frame is great! Solid wood all around and very sturdy. My only disappointment is with the trim that holds the screen in place. It varied in thickness and produced a visible wave at many places where it went against the straight frame, and caused a noticable difference at the corners where the thickness doesn't match up. Also, the trim was chipped in several places, as if the tool that cut it was dull, or it was fed into the tool at too fast a speed. Million dollar frame with ten cent trim.

High quality screen door
This is a high quality door made in of solid wood and a terrific finish ready for painting. It looks great on our screened in porch. I bought this because I could not find a door locally that had any good reviews. The reviews on Amazon were one big factor in ordering this door. It was well packaged and shipped well. I recommend it.

Advice: Do not buy joinery work products online!
We bought these doors to replace 15 year old screen doors on our deck. I have lots of experience in building and carpentry, and must say these doors are of the lowest quality that I have ever seen. by a long shot.1. the wood looked like it had mud and dirt of some sort splashed on it from sitting on the bottom of a pile, out in a yard somewhere. 2. the joinery work was awful. gaping joints, miters that did not match, bits of screen material un-threading and hanging on like jellyfish tentacles. 3. the wood was very rough, with some saw marks evident, and the blades on the planer that were used to thickness the wood must have not ever been sharpened. The nap was like a suede jacket. There were also defects such as knots, and insect damage. They were manufactured in China, no surprise there, but apparently without any attempt at quality control supervision. I would surely not want to market these things under my company name. in the end, i gave these doors to Habitat for Humanity, and went to a local mill shop where i could see what i was purchasing, and for a few bucks more, got a huge upgrade in quality. you get what you pay for - buyer beware!

Good quality
I was a little concerned that due to the size of this door, it might not be as solid. I was very pleased with what I got. There was only one split on the screen stay where the staple was to close. A little wood filter and light sanding fixed that and some machine marks on the wood. Very happy with how the doe turned out.

Good strong door.
This door is very well made and the boards are all true and straight. It takes paint well...It was in the storeroom for Hurricane Matthew and the bottom several inches sat in flood water for several hours. It does not appear to have warped. I'm still in the process of painting it.The only thing I don't really like is that the slats on the lower half of the door are completely covered with screen on the inside, and I will not be able to paint the portion beneath the screen. Not sure how that will look. I need to cover it with a grill or sorts to protect it from the cats...so hoping it won't be too noticeable. I have an older home and this style looks very nice.

This door never should have left the company.
The door was chipped in two places. The trim pieces had gouges and a large chuck of wood was split out. There were gaps in the miter joints. We paid $179.00 for a new door and received a damaged door. There was no way to contact the manufacturer, no phone number, no email. Very disappointed with this door. Without the flaws this would have been a great door. It has good thickness, great material. Craftsmanship and assembly was terrible. Bad quality control.

Has some problems. Not recommended.
This screen door is fairly sturdy but not very carefully made. The trim that holds that screen tends to be, as mentioned by another reviewer, damaged during manufacture. The are splits in the wood that are poorly repaired. Most important of all is the fact that this product is unpainted but has the screen already installed. I thought I would be able to use masking tape to protect the screen during painting but tape doesn't stick very well to the screen. So some paint inevitably gets on the screen. The trim could in principe be removed for painting but this doesn't appear very practical. These problems could be solved if, instead of the trim piece to hold the screen, a groove was cut for spline to hold the screen. This is the case with most screens. Then the screen could be easily removed for painting and then replaced.

Sturdy
Solid. Screen is not plastic stuff. Hard to paint unless you remove the trim and that’s just too much trouble. If it weren’t for that it would be a solid 5 star. I guess you either build them sturdy or easy to paint. I choose sturdy.
