Comfort and sizing.
I'm 6'1. 210lbs. This vest is comfortable and easy to put on. I use it for snowmobile racing and wear it under my overcoat. It does the job!!

I am sure its fine for a dude
I am a 5'5" 125lb girl, and this is far too big. I will have to continue to look for something that will work for my size. Even with it being too big, it honestly didnt seem like it would give me much protection.

Not hard plastic at all!
it will work for trail riding but i dont trust it to much, but then again something is better then nothing!
