The media could not be loaded. This 100% will work as a replacement for an older Whirlpool fridge’s evaporator fan. But, be sure to keep your old fan’s hardware so you can reuse them. The brackets that come with this were too short for my fridge. But I was able to retrofit the old bracket and make it work. My old fan had both terminals on one side. So the white wire would not reach this fan since the negative terminal is on the opposite end. But you can easily cut the wire and extend it with a couple wing nuts. I used an old iPhone charging cable wire and it worked as an extension. An electrical wire cutter would come in very handy. Also, the red blade is too large. So use your old blade as a template and trim the new blade to the proper radius. Scissors will do the trick. So yes, took some work but well worth the investment.

The fan motor and assembly was a perfect match but it required a bit of disassembly and reassembly to realign the motor. The packaging was extremely damaged and it was evident the shaft of the motor had penetrated the box throwing it out of alignment. The outer bag was torn in multiple places from the metal components and the interior box was almost non existent. The motor shaft would not spin until it was realigned. Once installed it worked like a champ and super quiet.

Fan squeals & groans for a while when it starts. Annoying.

We bought 2 others, one was damaged the other not like the photo at all but Amazon was great about returns. This kit worked great although we had to modify the fan a bit. There is one connector on each side (not both sides like in photo) of the motor but we pulled the tape and moved one over to the right. Works great and quiet!

I was going to be heartbroken if I had to let my old fridge go and it lives on because of this part! I didn't install the motor but the fan was an easy replacement and for the price I have a backup motor. Thumbs up!

this defrost fan fit my whirlpooll/kenmore fridge! great price and similar to original....my old one making cat noises this was fairly easy to install the wire lead location on motor must match old one and the fan blade cannot be pushed too far back to motor or it will hit motor. works well! super quiet ! all good.

I compared my fan motor to the one in the pic. They matched so I ordered it. The one I got did not have the electric terminals down one side like the pic, but 2 on one side and 1 on the other. This made one wire in my existing harness too short to reach the terminal. I used one male and one female spade connector and about 5 inches of wire to make a jumper and now it works. Boxed was crushed on arrival, motor mount arms bent. Straightened it all out and made it work.
