Great remote for Sony!!!
Overall Works great!! Very good deal for $9.Used Sony a7ii;Bulb mode works.Tested from around 15 feet and works very well.Bonus;I also tested from behind the camera and worked well(15 feet). Not consistent if you’re on the right side of the camera. Cuz of sensor on the left.I’m not leaving the battery in it as others mentioned it.

Love
Love this budget remote for my Sony A6400. It works really well Ana doesn’t interfere with any of my other equipment, which I’ve run into that issue with another remote.Performance does well outdoors as well, I can walk away about 35 feet without problems.I can’t really speak on the zoom since majority of my lenses are cine lenses.I definitely recommend and will be buying another just in case my current one breaks due to me using in extreme elements.

Works with the A7R II, but range isn't amazing.
I bought this and then let it sit for half a year because I couldn't get it to work. Turns out it was my fault and there's a few things you have to do:- Turn on Remote control in the "toolbox" menu page 3- Set "Video light mode" in the "gear" (cog) menu page 7 to REC Link, Rec Link&STBY, or Auto- Make sure not to cover the little black strip on the grip, where your middle finger most likely restsI had video light mode set to power link for some reason, which caused it not to work. I think I was having a hard time figuring out how to make sure I wouldn't accidentally blind people with AF assist back when I was messing with it (which I think is AF illuminator "camera" menu page 4)But that's Sony's fault for making a horrible menu system, and I didn't take off any stars for it.The actual issue I have is it seems like range can vary from 5 to 20 feet. I'm used to radio triggers for my Nikon D800, but was interested in this since using a built-in one would be nice. I think this will be fine for taking controlled indoor self-portraits but I don't think it'll work for group outdoor shots that I'm also in.That and I really doubt the official Sony one would be any better. I almost want to leave 5 stars as the product itself is a perfectly acceptable clone of the Sony one, but the Sony one has too many problems to really suggest this over a two part radio-based remote.(Also, note that the red light on your camera will flash when a picture is taken with the remote. I assume this is because there's a chance you couldn't hear it but really Sony made it too bright for most uses - I'd rather stare at a small strobe flash. I've covered about 80% of my light with black gaffer tape leaving the top part visible for status indication still.)

Works well with A7R III, but must remove battery to prevent accidental battery discharge when storing in camera bag.
It works, but suffers from a common problem with cheap remote products; super-easy-to-push buttons and no on/off switch. So if you put this remote in your camera bag, no matter how frequently you use it, you must remove the battery every time. (Unless you find yourself with a limitless supply of CR2025 batteries you are looking to discharge to use in an art piece.) The battery slides out easily enough; it is one of those flat button batteries slightly less than 3/4 inch in diameter, so I keep the battery in a spare sd card case, but that is an annoyance. I can't wait until word of slider on/off switches reaches the otherwise very clever makers of these camera-related remotes!I use this remote for landscape photography while the camera is on a tripod, primarily, and for that it works well -- you just have to reach your hand around the side of the camera, crudely aim the remote toward the front of the camera (where the IR sensor of the camera is always located) and press the red button. This lets you take a long exposure picture without touching the camera and causing camera shake. For times when I am standing by the tripod and can easily reach my hand around the camera (which is most of the time), I strongly prefer this type of IR remote to cable releases that I must connect to the camera, or to radio remotes that require me to connect a receiver to the camera. In most cases, I also this to a smartphone wifi connection as the connections can be fiddly and laggy and turing on wifi on the camera also consumes the camera battery. One use-limiting issue is that this does not support bulb exposures, so don't plan on using this for super long exposure photography..

EXCELLENT value for the price!
I have not tried the Sony original remote, but this one works PERFECTLY with my a6300, even the zoom feature (if your lens supports/has electronic zoom). and for the price, I bought myself another one, but from a different brand, which was roughly the same price as this one. Definitely recommend it, as it comes very handy.

Very handy remote.
Works great, a little slippery in the hand so solved that problem by drilling a small hole in the lower corner and attaching a small hand strap I had on hand. Problem solved! Strap can also be used to hang remote from tripod, no more lost remotes👍

umm ... does not work at all
tried every recommendation on web and photo sites - while I can control my cam ( nex 5400 ) with sony software and hard remote, this unit would not work. Waste of money...you get what ya pay for. ( Use Adobe edge sw on your cell or tablet - works perfectly. )

A must have for Sony Shooters!
This is a must for Sony shooters! This remote works great and is so cheap why not buy it?? Works well with my Sony A7iii. Love being able to start and stop in front or behind my camera with ease. Don't spend $30 on the sony, just save your money and get this wondering aftermarket one that works just as well.

Ottimo prodotto
Il telecomando è veramente ben fatto, scocca in plastica e tasti in gomma. Nella confezione c'è tutto, batteria e manuale compresi. Provato con una Sony A6400 ha funzionato subito e senza problemi. Acquisto consigliato!
