Great rod for the money
This is my first fly rod and so far I love it. I've fished this rod 5x. I've caught about 45 trout. The biggest was a 22 in rainbow that weighed close to 5lbs. My new personal best. I was a little worried about a 3wt rod but it handled that huge trout in running water no problem. The rod is easy to cast and is pretty sensitive. Only negative is the balance is maybe 4in in front of the handle, even with an oversized reel. Really great rod for the price. Nymphing is THE way to catch trout.

Good introductory rod for euro nymphing
Ok SO...I actually really like this rod. I bought mine before I really started to get into euro nymphing, and I think it was a really great introduction rod. It is a bit on the heavier side, however i did purchase mine as a 5wt and any euro nymphing I did required a much lighter reel (2-3wt) to balance out my rig. Also super nice when you take the exstension off as well, and i personally LOVE using mine for dry fly fishing as well as swinging wet flies. Personally, I dont have a ton of experience fishing streamers with mine, however with the heaver weights im sure there really wouldnt be an issue casting a bigger fly. All in all a great introductory rod for euro nymphing, and orks well as a classic 9ft rod as well, definitely has brought alot of fish to the net and works well for me!

Defective - returned for another. Great intro rod
I purchased this specifically to Euro Nymph with. I was very pleased with the quality of the rod for $100, but the 3rd fish in of the day - the rod snapped. I must have gotten a defective rod... because it was working great up until that point (granted, it was a fat, 18' whitefish... but still). Seller was quick to send me a message indicating agreement to replace the rod and I'm eager to get back out and use it again. I really like the extension that takes it out to 11' - makes it really nice for Euro Nymphing. For a $100 rod, I've got no complaints and would recommend it for anyone looking to get into the sport.

Maxcatch 4 in 1 Farglory {Nymph} Fly Fishing Rod
The Maxcatch 4 in 1 Farglory 4 wt. Fly Fishing Rod is a lightweight fast-action specialty rod designed for the Czech Nymph technique. Fishing this rod you actually flick weighted nymphs upstream of the target area and then, using the extra rod length, and long, light leaders, guide the flies along the bottom, almost pulling the rig downstream instead of using the standard "dead-drift. The Farglory comes with a extra extension that allows you to go from 9 1/2' to 11', or you also can make it 10' or 10 1/2' to fish any size stream you wish. A great concept in nymph fishing or you can use it with a dry fly fishing the 9 1/2'. I paired it with the Maxcatch TORO Reel in a 4 wt. & the Maxcatch AVID Fly Line 4wt. to hit the streams. This rod for the money will match up with any high priced Nymph rod on the market. You got to try this rod nymph fishing to feel its great action !!!! Trust in Maxcatch you won't be sorry...

Great value
Best entry of level nymph rod out there period, excellent quality and value, go spend 2, 3, 4x's more for an ounce lighter stick if it makes you feel better. Been there done that, no more...I bought it as a gift but I'm keeping it...lol...

Delaminated handle
Used once, after removing reel, the handle looks like it’s delaminating or cracking. New to Euro Nymphing, but rod seems to be a good introductory rod. A little heavy, but casts pretty good. Not sure how long the handle will last?

First one broke after two hours BUT I couldn’t be happier with the replacement.
I was pretty upset when the first one broke (at a section joint). Just the same, I figured I’d give it another go (this time a #3 instead of the #4). So far, it’s held up through many hours of fishing. Both on dries (short length) and on Euro nymphing (extended length), it has performed exceptionally. In particular, it throws dries like a dream. With the first one breaking, I can’t give it five stars, but the subsequent performance certainly merits four. And at this price point, I’ve no hesitation in recommending it.

A beautiful rod. 9 1/2 foot, 4 weight.
Have only field casted so far. Nice medium fast action at 9 1/2 and 10 feet. Felt a little funny at 11 feet. But I have never used that long of a rod. Even though it is a nymphing rod I plan to use it for general fishing especially small midges in lakes. Casts a 4 wt fine or a 5 wt into the wind or with streamers. It is a little slower action for soft accurate casts of small flies. Could be a used as a longer rod for float tube or kayak.
