This is a pretty solid case, especially for less than $10.It's a minimalist case. It adds a bit of thickness to the sides but very little to the front or top/bottom. All controls are accessible although the sim-card slot is not. That's probably fine since the case is pretty easy to remove. It seems pretty durable although I suspect dropping from shoulder height onto concrete is still going to damage your phone.The texture is nice. It feels like the back of the old Nexus 5 to me, adding some much needed grip to the back of the phone. It's easy to access the controls and this doesn't interfere with the use of the fingerprint scanner (if you can manage to enable that). It doesn't really pick up lint or fingerprints. It maintains the rounded sides so that the phone is still pretty comfortable in hand.The only con is that the phone can't "stand up" on its base anymore. But, TBH, that was a perilous feature of the phone anyway.This is probably the minimalist case to get for the Xperia X Compact. Options are pretty limited for this phone.

I had this case for around 3 years before it was time to buy a new one. It's got a nice texture that's easy to grip, but doesn't bring your pants pocket out with it when you grab it as some rubber cases do. It's also very low-profile.I've dropped this thing I don't know how many times and it's protected the phone very well. (admittedly, I once dropped it off a third floor balcony onto a sidewalk, and the phone came out without a scratch, which is more a review of the phone and how good it is.) Finally, after enough abuse, bits and pieces of the case have broken off to where the corners are mostly gone, and it was time to get a new case. So I bought this one again. Love it.

Perfect fit, really nice texture, almost no bulk. If you want a minimalist case for the X Compact this is the one. It adds some grip to the phone, which is needed. I might actually want just a little bit more grip. On a smooth, slanted surface it could still slide a bit. But the texture is so nice it's hard to complain.It does not cover the top and bottom, just the sides and back. So there is zero interference with USB or headphone plug-ins. It does wrap around a little on edges of the top and bottom, giving a modicum of protection to the ends. There are cutouts for all the buttons, so you're pressing the actual button, rather than squishing down a part of the case to make it press the button the way some cases do.Do not count on it to save the phone from big drops onto concrete. It's just a little extra protection from everyday bumps and scrapes, and the extra grip will help keep you from dropping this slippery little phone in the first place.

For what this case is meant to be it appears to be best in class. Slim cases pair the dimensions of the Compact X to suit the human hand well and actually fit in a pocket.I really enjoy the cuts made for the buttons.It feels like I'm actually handling my phone while it is still protected.I think this is well worth its price.

Not too much, not to little. Just enough of a case to get a better grip, but not so heavy to be noticed. I doubt it will protect from a major fall, but it will help on all of those little bumps and slides and fumbles.

it is what it is, minimal drop protection. Great feel in the hand while using the phone. It has begun to show a fair amount of dust getting in between the side of the phone and the case.

Scratches and makes marks a little way, but great for professional occasions

Good case. Has a bit of a rough spot at the top where it might have been cut unevenly during production, but overall a great feel and a good cover if you're looking for a minimalist look. Can hardly tell the difference from the rest of my black phone.
