Bandai Thundercats Basic Roleplay Weapon Toy Deluxe LionO Claw Shield

It seems like each new generation of toys brings new ideas for kids to have as playthings. From toys that transform normal cars into robots, to play toys that light up with flashy lights and futuristic sounds.This is a really neat idea for costume mods. It is a working gauntlet that fits around your hand, wrist, and part of your forearm. The red eye lights up and makes sounds when you do motions with the gauntlet such as punching or wild movement. What's really neat about this is that you can remove the sound device from the gauntlet and replace it with one of the other "Thundercats" daggers (Sold separately) and it fits perfectly in the same slot. Sadly though, the gauntlet is only designed for kids to as old as about 14 years of age. I am about 5'6 and have pretty narrow fingers, but the size of my fingers causes the whole thing to not exactly fit me to well. So, with that in mind, the gauntlet is mostly for those who are about 10 to 14 years old. (Best guess) The item is very sturdy and actually holds up well. The finger tips are made of rubber, so it will not scratch anyone too harshly, and it does have a rubber connection between the back palm and wrist to allow for more fluid movement. It not only attaches at the palm but also around the forearm using rubber straps for a good hold. There are slots on the straps to allow you to adjust for size so you can make it fit comfortably around your palm and forearm. This is a very nice sturdy item and it looks like it can take "some" punishment before it cracks, but recommend you treat it like any other costume item, just as a prop or jewelry, not a combat weapon. A very nice item for "Thundercats" fans, but only fits for 10 - 14 years of age. Please keep this in mind.

When receiving the Claw Shield, I was thoroughly disappointed that the item listed was not what I had received. This is clearly the most basic version with a cheaper packaging, which actually left the "Eye of Thundera" completely open to being scratched by Amazon placing the item in a box 5 times the size of the product. I was looking forward to giving this to my son now that he is in the Thundercats phase. For $25, I would not call this version a good buy in any stretch of the word and felt like it was a bit excessive even for the deluxe model but really wanted one for my son.

This item seems to be well constructed. It is durable, looks fantastic, and my daughter loves the sound effects that it makes. My single complaint is that the strap that secures it to her arm is very rigid, and can be very uncomfortable. It's possible that her arm is still a bit too small for it (large 3 year old). Also, I did not realize that the eye of thundera portion of the claw that makes the sound effects is a removable section that can be replaced with the small sword of omens, also found on amazon. This means that you can either have the sword attached to the claw, or you can have the sound effects but not both.

My son loves Thundercats. He already had the Sword of Omens so my husband insisted we buy this for him. My son is two so this is too big for him but I knew it would be when I ordered it. He doesn't play with it as often as he plays with the sword but he occasionally pulls it out. The quality of the product is good for the price and the best feature is that it has an on/off switch for the sound effects.

I only wish they made toys like this when I was young. It's real cool to have my 5 year old son grow up to like the same cartoons that I did. We are able to watch both the old and new versions of Thundercats together. These toys are based on the new version. I had bought my son the little version of the Sword of Omens that fits perfectly within the claw as well as the deluxe version of the Sword. He wears this thing non-stop, especially whenever the cartoon is on. I think the toys were a bit pricey, but this may be because I was behind the curb buying them. I know they've been out for awhile and the price has gone up since then, but seeing how much fun my son is having with them... it was worth it. Now I hope they re-make the Voltron cartoon, so I can get that toy for him. He's hooked on the old version and keeps asking for the toy of the Robot. A Voltron toy now is well over three hundred dollars. New Cartoon=New toys. Anyways, he'll have to settle for these wonderful Thundercats toys until then.

Can't have the sword and noise in at the same time. The ad picture is deceiving because that kid looks older. This barely fit my 4 year old child.

My son loves it and the swirds fits great.

Sent a diggerent toy... i ordered a "Deluxe Claw Shield" item recieved was not as advertised. Please change the photo and description. Amazon refunded my money
