Awesome!!!
These boots make the day so much better. I went from the F/L to an office job with a lot of walking. I was wearing the issued steel toe boots. By the end of the day my feet were extremely sore. A friend recommended I give these a try. I thought, why not?, the price is way cheaper than anything on base. I received them in 2 days. (Thanks prime!!!). I picked the box up off my porch and was a bit concerned. I swore there were no boots in the box. Before I got too worked up I opened it. Sure enough, there were a pair in the box. It's unbelievable how light they are. I've been wearing them for about a week now. My feet are so much better. Give these a try. You won't regret it.

Very comfortable but not durable
These boots are very comfortable. Probably the most comforting pair I have wear worn but they aren’t very durable. I have had this pair for about a year now but they started started falling apart at about 9th or 10th month. There are 2 holes on the back of my right boot and one hole on the back of left foot. I haven’t deployed or did anything extreme. I have mostly use these boots only for office use so I’m disappointed considering I paid good price. Based on the comfort level I’ll consider buying again but I’ll look for other options also. I’d recommend this pair to someone who works regular office job, if you work on the field you probably should look for other options. Also these boots won’t do well in the winter. They aren’t water proof and they aren’t very durable.

A+ for lite duty
The moment I lifted these boots out of the box I was amazed at how feather like they are. They almost have no weight to them at all.Walking in them is great, they are not heavily so this allows you to move in these as if they are running shoes. As a matter of fact, I have running shoes that are heavier. The build, I can only speak for what I see at the moment. They look great, and you can see the materials are quality. They used metal lace loops all the way up, and metal breather holes. They insoles are very simple but for some reason they are still more comfortable then most (attributed to the weight of the boot is my guess). So based on my experience with boots of this style, I can say these are going to be an amazing pair of light duty boots. They probably not going to make it long if I breat them to hell, but that was not why I bought them. I stay these mearley by comparing them to actual military boots, looking at the leathers, stitching, thickness, etc. I can't be completely wrong, but we will see how they hold up after some time. Also I highly recommend spraying them with a water proofing of some kind. It will help in the long run, also my spray made them a shade darker and to me that helped the look even more.

Excellent boots! Hubby is happy
My hubby is with the USAF and he bought these boots. He’s very happy with the purchase. He said they’re so light and comfy you can almost use them as running shoes. He loves how the boots fit and he didn’t need to “break in” to make them fit nicely. Also, since they’re so light, they are easier and more convenient to bring/pack when he goes out of the country for temporary duty assignments.

Light and sure-footed
Twenty-five years infantry. Most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. Big respect for Danner boots (and other well-known select brands, too), but these are the most comfortable. The tread is not the aggressive Vibram lug I grew up with hunting and Soldiering, and I think that is a GOOD thing (!); this tread on the Tachyon is better for hunting (VERY quiet footfall) and “way-far-back trustworthy” for all terrain from sand to forest - but I will stick with aggressive Vibram lugs for steep, rocky faces, mossy, or wet/snowy rock. Incredibly light and I have run in them...they are built to move easy, fast and quiet. The sage color (which is excellent for blending in with different terrains) I bought in just fabric (not the Gore-Tex and leather). If you are in thorns (big thorns, like locust or acacia, not little nettle stuff) a lot you may want to go with the leather version. Breaking them in was instant - not an issue at all...lace them up and go. Really they are like running boots. The tread drop is nearly flat, but don’t worry it does the job even on a muddy, loose rock inclined trail. Here’s a Lord of the Rings metaphor: the Danner Tachyon is an elven boot, not a dwarf boot. You will not regret hiking all day in this airy light boot.

Best military boots I’ve EVER owned!
I’ve been in the military for 22 years. I have to say these are THEE most comfortable boots that I have ever worn. I have to wear steal toe boots for a lot of my job but realized recently that I don’t have to wear them all day everyday and they are doing a number on my feet. So I decided to care of me and buy some new boots. After a whole lot of research and asking around, I went with these!!! WOW!!! I feel like I’m wearing sneakers and the best part, my feet have room to breath. My toes aren’t pinched and feel like they’re suffocating. Nothing rubs. I wear a size 8 in women’s shoes and bought a 6. They have a little extra room in them but just the right amount. The only thing I’d say bad is that they’re not for cold weather if you’re out in it, but with the right socks, that could be improved! If you’re unsure, take a chance!!!

HORRIBLE DUTY BOOTS
I purchased these boots with high expectations (given the Danner reputation). These boots hurt my feet big time, and they come with paper thin insoles Yea....(ouch). I even put in memory foam insoles and gel heel support for extra comfort. My feet were swollen last night 11/22/17 after a twelve hour shift. These boots must be for people with flat feet. I am back shopping for boots again.

Tachyon "Nylon" Duty Boot
This boot is exactly as described as far as the weight is concerned. They are feather weight in comparison to other Danner boots I own. That's because they are made mostly of a light unlined nylon fabric. That being said there isn't much in the way of support with these boots like Danner's more pricey leather line. They are perfect to be worn during the hot summer months when your feet can be roasting in a heavier leather boot. I found them relatively comfortable right out of the box. Wish the laces were a lot shorter, and that they had a pull tab in the back to help slip them on. They are not waterproof, so be cautious if you plan on wearing them in wet or rainy conditions. But overall the great deal I got on them makes up for these shortcomings.
