Getting to the Roots of Science Vocabulary Levels 6-8 (Getting to the Roots of Content-Area Vocabulary) Paperback – January 1, 2014

This is a teacher’s book. In order for the kids to work on the tasks, get ready to make copies. I’m homeschooling, so we will be copying the worksheets, then reselling. It’s a good, SHORT lesson each time. It offers a good base for teaching how to first transcribe the Greek or Latin based word, then translate into a more meaningful definition. I wish there were more activities. They come with a CD with some supplements, but it didn’t seem worth MORE printing/copying. I’m using these with a 10yr/old (5th gr) who has autism. Learning base words is helping him with understanding the English language much better. It’s worth the time to sit and teach him how to break apart hard words.
