I'm very pleased with this light
This is my first LED grow light. And though I have no previous experience from which to make a comparison, I'm very pleased with this light. My attempt to grow some herbs gifted to me (mint, basil, cilantro & parsley) was failing... even in the south facing window. A bit of online research suggested that some supplemental light would be extremely beneficial. In natural sunlight, the mint produced a single sprout... and the others had become quite "leggy". After moving these herbs into the field of light provided by the ACKE 600T, things immediately began to change. Rather than continuing to get taller, leaves began to form and grow. And the mint... rather than the single lonely sprout, others quickly emerged. Encouraged, I've begun some additional grows. I also like the simplicity of the built in timer. There is no clock to set (or reset upon a power outage). Instead, it is a simple timer. At the time that you'd like to begin your daily "light on" session, you push the "on" button. If you'd like it to be on the timer, you then push the "timer" button. From there, you push up or down arrows to adjust for the hours and minutes until you've specified the amount of time that you'd like the light to stay on. Another press of the "timer" button and it is locked in. You'll then notice that it will begin to "count down" from the time you've specified until it reaches 00:00... at which point the light turns off. And the next morning, at the same time it was first turned on, it will turn on again and begin to count down your preset time. I've only had this ACKE 600T for two weeks, but it is sure proving its worth as an outstanding Full Spectrum LED Grow Light! Thanks, ACKE!!

Timer design issue
setting timer is a pain what ever time you actually turn it on at is the time it will come on again next day this means if you want to set it at 3AM then you need to get up at 3AM and set it up say you want it to run for 10 hours you need to set the timer to run for 10 hours then it turns off then goes back on again at 3AMseems like a not so well thought out timer designbut it seems solid made and light output is ok not great but just okthe price is great so i would buy again

The plants love this light but SERIOUS DESIGN FLAWS
The plants love this light but it's got a serious design flaw (updated see below, FLAWS) - it can't be hooked to an external timer or switch of any kind. If the power supply so much as flickers the light shuts off and stays off until you manually hit a button on the front panel: The light has two separate switch circuits AND two separate switches. A regular rocker switch like you'd expect and a second push-button switch on the front that serves no real purpose other than to frustrate the user and limit this light's usefulness. If they'd fix this ridiculous shortcoming this would be a 5-star product. But until then it's just okay. I still use the light, but I can't use it for my intended installation. Why would anybody design a light with two separate switches to turn it on, one of which always defaults to OFF if the power is interrupted for a half second? This product cannot be used with any smart plug, Alexa, or any other internet-enabled product because of this design flaw. It also cannot be used with a wall switch, external timer, a switched solar power system, or some UPS units. The built-in timer is clumsy but functional unless the power is interrupted. It's not really programmable (you can tell it to stay on X amount of hours, but you cannot tell it when X begins) and as described above an external timer is out of the question. If the power is interrupted and restored, the unit's conflicting switch settings will turn the light off (to the dismay of your plants) but the unit will continue burning electricity after the power is restored. Sitting there. Doing nothing. (See update below for explanation).I give this product 3 stars based on how much the plants love the light, but I also understand the 1 star reviews for the switch problem. If I didn't have the option of babysitting this light I would probably give it 1 star as well. I definitely will not buy another one of these unless they fix the design flaw.Update: I used my watt meter to explore this light. When it's on it uses 188 watts, very close to it's advertised consumption. But that is where the good news ends. When the grow light is off, the pointless second switch circuit burns two watts of power sitting there doing nothing just to illuminate the second switch panel. Yes! The same part of the lamp that brought this otherwise good review to a star-grinding halt wastes electricity performing a function that nobody wants. BUT, if the timer function is set, when the grow light is off the power consumption drops to 0.2 watts because the switch circuit doesn't illuminate when the "off" portion of the timer is running. But when it powers back on, it burns the additional 2 watts just to remind you how much you hate this "feature".So:Light running: 188 wattsLight off / no timer set: 2 wattsLight off / timer set: 0.2 wattsLight off / timer set, but power interrupted during off cycle for any reason and then restored: ACTUAL= 2 watts consumption upon power restoration (light and timer now inoperable... light SHOULD BE OFF and wattage consumed should be close to zero watts if within timer parameters)Light on / timer set, but power interrupted during on cycle for any reason and then restored: ACTUAL= 2 watts consumption upon power restoration (light and timer now inoperable... light SHOULD BE ON and close to 186 watts if within timer parameters)Light running: Unnecessary watts wasted for a second switch circuit nobody wants: +2 watts regardless of timer. But wait! There's more! when you want the light turned off you have to choose: 1) Use the built-in timer, and try not to think about the two watts you are going to lose to a useless switch when the unit powers on, and pray there isn't any type of power hiccup that renders the entire unit worthless but still drawing power, 2) Don't use the built in timer, but throw away money burning two watts to maintain the unit when it's off but not doing anything constructive or 3) Unplug the unit or use the primary rocker switch to kill the power (I verified when you hit the rocker switch the power consumption drops to zero) but have to manually plug in cords and/or hit switches to make the light work. But again- why design a light with two separate on/off circuits when the result is a ridiculous limitation of the unit's operational options AND an unnecessary power drain? All that being said, the quality of light from this device is really good. The plants love it, the light is not hot, the fans run well and are relatively quiet. This is the paragraph that explains why this is a 3-star review instead of something much worse. If you have a solar system, high electricity rates, or can't babysit the unit's operation you are probably better off looking for something else.

Do not buy!!!
Do not buy this light! This light has a major design flaw in it. If the light loses power it shuts off and deletes the timer information and never turns back on when the power returns. I just lost my entire grow tent due to a one second power outage and the light's not turning back on again while I was on vacation. The light didn't break, it wasn't fried by a power surge, this is a design flaw in the light. The way the light works is you turn it on and then you can set the timer button that tells the light how many hours/minutes to stay on. It will then stay on and shut off at that time, and turns back on when the 24 hours are up.So you turn it on, set the timer for 16 hours and leave. The light will stay on for 16 hours, shuts off for 8 and will turn back on at the start of the next 24 hour period. HOWEVER, if you lose power AT ALL to the light it will NOT turn back on when power returns, AND your timer settings are wiped out. Which means the light will never turn back on until you go hit the power switch and then set the timer back up again. It also means that you CANNOT use any external timers for the lights as they will not turn back on when power hits the light.Because of these serious issues I cannot recommend this light to anyone. As a 20 year member of Amazon I rely on independent reviews when shopping and I will always try to be as honest and impartial as I can and will try to provide helpful insight into the product. I am reviewing this product as it relates to how it works for me in my intended use. I tend to review products that I really like, or that let me down in some manner. If you found this review helpful, then please click the "YES" link below! Thank you, and HAPPY SHOPPING!
