Great Projector, Terrific Value
This replaced a Sharp DT-400, which cost thousands more... and blows it out of the water. The 3LCD image is stunning, bright, and crisp. Setup was a breeze, and while there are plenty of things you can tweak, it's generally great, right out of the box. I did have to reduce the brightness on all settings - even in a room filled with ambient light, and in ECO mode, the projector is really bright. No banding, no 'rainbows', beautifully even screen illumination - the picture is amazing. It's surprisingly quiet in ECO mode. You'll be shocked, if you're coming from a DLP projector... it's almost silent in comparison. The remote is functional (be nice if it was lit, but that's nitpicking). It's done well scaling everything I've thrown at it, including old DVDs, and it's been a pleasure to watch, so far. Bulb replacement costs are also amazing - half what most other projector lamps cost. It's a new item, so I don't know how it will do over the long haul (I'll update if there's a change), but at the moment, I can't imagine there's a better projector value on the market. It really is a great piece of hardware.

Very solid projector, nice range of feature, nice image quality, affordable price.
This is a very solid entry level home cinema projector. I used it in a empty room I have spare and I use a entire white wall as the screen, and it is able to cast a crystal clear picture onto a large portion of the wall.I have been using it on a table right side of where I sit, so I use the keystone slider a lot. It handles the situation very well, you can easily adjust the image based on where you put the projector. It does give you smaller image when you do that but the image is still very decent. The fan runs not so loud, you can hear the fan noises if you are in a quiet surrounding, but usually you would be playing something so this won't be a big deal. Also, it works well with some light in the room, it has a bright mode that's designed to work in those scenarios.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this projector, I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a home cinema projector under 700.PS: don't look directly at the lens when it's projecting, it blinds you...

Best bang for the $$
This is a fantastic projector! After about 10 years with a 720p Optoma HD65 it was time for an upgrade. This projector is SO much brighter. When we moved the old projector had a tough time showing dark scenes during the day in my living room with the blinds shut. That is not a problem with the Epson HC2100. I can have the windows open and it's still plenty bright and still has good contrast. The value of this projector is great. I bought it after reading the "Best of" list at projectorreviews.com. I was looking for a sub-$1000 projector. This one didn't make the cut, but it was specifically listed as the "Projector we most wished we could have reviewed". Later they DID review it and it got big thumbs-ups. Out of the box it was way TOO bright, but after I adjusted that and the contrast wife and I were both pleased. At the first football game I adjusted the color and tint for good skin tones and that was about all I had to do.I never thought that I would get into 3D, but I couldn't resist when I found that it was compatible with generic (active) 3D glasses. The kids LOVE watching Polar Express and others with their glasses on. I wish that this projector could do 2D-to-3D conversion, but that's still foundNormally the projector is very quiet, but if it's doing hard work (like for 3D) the fan gets much louder. It's easy to switch the frame interpolation so you don't get the "Soap Opera Effect" but can watch sports with the most clarity. I *did* notice that when watching sports the ball gets a comet-tail effect with the frame interpolation sometimes, but it's pretty rare and easily overlooked.

Colorful, Bright, Amazing!!!
The media could not be loaded. Simply the best investment I've purchased in years. Having this been my first ever projector purchased, I didn't really know what to expect from it. But wow, I was blown away by how amazing the picture qaulity looked. It's very bright for only having 2500 lumens, colors is very vibrant, contrast ratio looks amazing consider I'm not even using a projector screen, 1080p never looked so good... Boots up fast, menu layout was very easy to navigate, lots of setting feature to play around with.... Only negative I can take from it, is that the fan does get a little loud, I recommend setting it on Eco mode. The fan does put out warm air. Also this projector didn't seem to detect my 4k UHD Blu ray player via HDMI, went ahead and called Epson tech support but no help there... Since I'll also be using this projector for 3D, I went ahead and purchase a new 3D blu ray player, which seem to fix the problem, weird??..haven't tried out the 3D feature yet but will update once I try it out...

Not a quality product. Seems like you cant trust brand Epson anymore.
One of the praises I always tell others about Amazon is that I have never bought a product - electronic or otherwise - that did not work. That is until this product. It worked right out if the box, picture and performance were superb. I watched a total of three movies on three different nights; I only set up the projector mid last week. On Dec 24th, I set up to watch a fourth movie and the brand new projector did not work. The lamp seems to be dead already; I get a flashing blue and an orange warning light. Its absolutely unbelievable that I didnt even get a week’s service out of this machine. My optoma is still going after seveal years. Going to start the process of getting Amazon to help right this wrong. Will keep you posted. Very dissapointed.
