This is very good product overall and it is well priced.It is easy to assemble. The whole assembly took less than 10 minutes. It is quite sturdy, but beware that it is not designed to take a lot weight (my guess would be about 20 lb safely, 30 absolute maximum.) After the assembly, I drilled two circular holes on the back-board to bring in and out power chords and other wires. This unit now houses a power-surge protector, a cable-tv signal booster, a gigabit ethernet switch, an external hard disk, and a wireless router sitting atop. It was good to tidy up all that electronic junk that was sitting on my table.This unit is stackable, and it comes with the hardware to do so if you desire. I did not take advantage of that feature (yet). I think two of these stacked on top could be good, three may be OK. If you want to stack-up four or more, you would be better off (both in price and in structural strength) by buying a tall and stronger unit instead of multiple cubes.

I am a huge fan of modular storage and have used cubes like these for years, arranging and rearranging them as home entertainment units, desks, or wall storage. I love this collection because I get the versatility of lightweight modular storage but my living room and workspace look adult and elegant--not like the college dorm room or back closet where someone might expect to see modular storage (in hard plastic, pressboard, and wire rack styles). The shelf cubes are not tall enough for most books to stand upright but are deep enough to hold a variety of boxes, shoes, flat books and magazines, etc. Compared to similarly priced or cheaper modular storage products I have purchased, these have been the most aesthetically pleasing and relatively sound for the price. They are much lighter than I expected, but whether that is a plus or minus depends on their intended use--the open cubes can handle heavy loads, but the longer rectangles and the drawer units may not perform so well without additional support for heavy loads. Additionally, their surfaces may not hold up incredibly well to scuffs, spills that are allowed to soak in, or drops, as other reviewers have shared, but neither do most other products in this price range, and this collection is much prettier than those.

I was looking for a solution to store/hide my old school SNES, NES, N64 and games in the media room, yet have a solution aesthetically pleasing enough to get the lady's approval. I only had a small amount of space, and these were the only furniture i found that fit perfectly. So i purchased a few different pieces of Foremost modular storage, and it worked for that purpose perfectly!Assembly:I had no problem putting these bad boys together. Took only a few minutes, and they look great! Few of the reviewers for other Foremost furniture, mentioned holes not lining up, etc. I had no problems on mine. The only issue i had was the small dowels when stacking the units. Those didnt fit quite right, and had to modify, but they give you multiple mounting options, so not a huge deal. Wouldnt dock a full point for that, though...maybe halfBuild quality:They are light and easy to move, but they dont FEEL durable, and only time will tell. But until something breaks, i'll give it the benefit of the doubt and wont dock a star in this category. I do like the lightweight hollow core, solid wood build concept. The finish seems to be pretty durable, and no marks were seen after i dropped a few things on it accidentally during construction.Packaging: Loved it! Simple, and 100% recyclable with the compressed paper inserts. No styro waste, and all 4 units arrived undamaged, even though 2 of the boxes looked a little beaten in shipping.Price and Value: I've purchased heavy duty steel shelving, book shelves, glass/steel entertainment shelves, etc that felt like they were much higher quality for the amount of storage these 4 units combined offered. At 20+bucks a pop, they are functional, and look nice....but slightly overpriced. I would have found another solution if available, but hey...it met the need at the time. Would not buy again for storage solution, unless price dropped a bit.Overall: If this perfectly fits your need, it definitely works as a modular storage option, with easy assembly, and decent build quality/durability(so far!). I wouldnt tempt fate and stack anything too heavy on/in them, though. Can any others who purchased these attest to their strength/durability?

I was looking for a way to create a large LEGO table area for my toddler while incorporating some type of storage. Ultimately I decided on going with modular storage cubes to make the most of the area we wanted to place it without spending a ton of money I chose the Foremost brand storage cubes based on overall rating, size (15x15" or 15x30"), they were one of the only brands that offered a true black instead of espresso (his room is batman/Gotham city themed so we really needed black), and also price point. All of the cubes arrived with their pieces undamaged. You do have to assemble them, but assembly is pretty straight forward, they are mostly held together with wooden pegs and a few screws. Once assembled they seem sturdy and do not flex from side to side if you put weight on them. Included with the hardware were also extra pieces to securely connect the cubes together either side by side or on top of each other. I placed custom cut 1/4" MDF sheets on the very top of these so I had a surface to paint, I wanted to paint a runway for the airport, a lake, rocks/dirt around the train tracks, and lines on the "roads" in between the large lego bases. Overall we are very happy with the end result and would recommend these.
