Walkers Shortbread Advent Calendar 10.4 oz

I have been enjoying these Festive Shape Walkers Cookies during the holidays for over a decade.Buy and enjoy with confidence / they are great and not too sweet.butThis is not the first time but IT IS THE WORST TIME AND LAST STRAW FOR ME !It is very tempting to fill this review with enough expletives to make you actually take notice of just how incompetent your packaging / boxing process and staff are.So . . .you take two easily compressed, thin, cardboard boxes with decorative , specialty, pricy, cookies in them . . .what would one expect to be the best choice to protect such a product to ship them in a truck full of heavy packages such as : car parts, stereos, bicycles, bowling balls etc. ?A corrugated cardboard box right ?Maybe some bubble wrap around the cookie boxes ?Lets back up ; I have seen this kind of box and bubble wrap from amazon put around a practically indestructable item such as a wrench or solid rubber item that could have literally been dropped, with no package at all, to the ground from an airplane in flight and not been damaged.What does amazon put these frail cookies in ?A plastic bag with zero padding.Seriously.! ? !Forgive me for thinking you are a bunch of bloody loonies.UPDATE: The next day I attempted to get a refund or more cookies sent and I just get stuck in this endless loop; enter the problem but cannot send it, it asks me to contact them to finalize if I want a refund or more cookies and it starts all over from the beginning asking me to state my problem . . . etc. over and over.To boot it self deleted the photo of the bag I took but kept the photo of the broken cookies !I have been dealing with amazon for two decades so this isn't my first rodeo with them and they have always been great. Up till now . . .Double fail for you amazon.

The gingerbread was delightful in the top of my trifle. The cool whip top made it look like the gingerbread men were dancing in the snow.I got SO many compliments on my contribution to thanksgiving. However, behind the scenes, 1/3 of the cookies were broken & were used further broken up inside the gingersnap layer. They need packed for shipping better, as they are delicate. Broken product's are not what buyers want.

My only concern is that the packaging does not stand up to Amazon shipping techniques. It is hit and miss if I get a box of decapitated amputees or not. The box seems sturdy enough but the plastic tray is far too flimsy. Maybe a recycled thick paper shaped insert would preserve and absorb the shock. The cookies are lovely with simple ingredients and natural ones compared to similar products. For the price, getting cookie bits is a bit much and you can’t guarantee you can serve them to guests.

This is for a second order of these wonderful cookies. I got them because they are a nice size to send with a few Christmas gifts.They really need to be packed better. The bags came in just a heavy paper pouch. Evidently , other boxes were on top of them for part or all of the shipping time. They look like they may be crushed due to that. Especially this time of year. Am not sure if I will send them or not.

I love everything from this brand and this product certainly did not disappoint.

This calendar was advertised as the 2025 Advent Calendar. Not true. It is actually the 2024 Advent Calendar with a best by date of March 2025. Seriously misleading. Returns not allowed because of food regulations. There are better ways to steal the hard earned money of customers. This was just criminal.

I love Walker's Shortbread, but because it's soooo good and tempting I usually limit myself to having it only at the holidays. For this year, my husband bought me the advent as a treat and to help moderate the intake.The box and the holiday scene is attractive, and the contents are fresh and as delicious as expected. There are even a couple of shortbread variations not readily available here in the States that I hadn't tried yet.But I did find the construction of the calendar lacking - within a couple of days of standing up, the spine of the opened box split away and fell into 2 pieces. We had to tape them back together to get it to stand up again which was a bit disappointing.Worse, we found that the doors didn't line up to the contents. Early on it was confusing as it appeared that there were 2 cookies for a particular day, only to find that another day located below the first one was now empty. That has been very disappointing.So great contents, but you may just want to purchase a box of cookies rather than the Advent calendar.
