Design and Support issues
I bought this six months ago, and its a pretty good monitor. It helps to keep you aware of what you are doing. What has disappointed me is that the clasp that holds it on is fiddly, and there is a loop on one end, that you thread the other end through, that helps to ensure the UP isnt lost when the clasp comes undone, which is not that unusual. That Loop has now come out of the rubber bracelet, and its really unnerving wearing the UP now, especially if out running, as everytime you bang or catch your wrist you are very conscious of the possibility of losing it all together, and on a number of occasions, it has dropped off. Luckily i have found it each time.I have attempted to raise this with Jawbone support twice but each time there has been no email confirmation, just a message on the support screen telling me they are very busy and it may be a while before I hear back. A telephone call informs me that they are not supporting the UK telephone number. This is not inspiring confidence in the Company !! Its March 2017, and the Bracelet has completely broken!

Great fitness motivating device
Really good, love the coach, and the heart info is really useful, especially since a upgrade it also does the passive and not just the resting. It is the only tracker which shows rapid eye movement sleep, which is important for overall wellbeing. One negative, it's internal food database is limited, but easily resolved by linking Myfitnesspal app to it.At one time it was more expensive then the fitbit hr, but I got my Up3 from Amazon for £49.99. It is listed on Jawbones website for £129.People have been saying the strap clasp can easily become undone, I have had no problem, but Jawbone will send a free clip to make it more secure if you have a problem. It is water resistant to rain and sweat, but not waterproof or shower proof. If you which to track swimming, you need to look elsewhere, probably a dedicated swimming tracker.I have tried a number of cheap Chinese fitness bands and SmartWatch, though i have found them to be well made, they all share the same Fundo app. A lot of people have had problems with it's setup and could not use it, i had no problems. However I found the fitness tracking functions to be poor. The notifications for phone notification to be good. For fitness and especially sleep and heart tracking I have found it to be the best buy and would recommend it.

Clever brain but mind you don't lose it!
I had an UP24 and was eager to get the long awaited UP3. I was looking forward to having more information about my sleep patterns and for it to be more secure on my wrist than the 24 was with its open design. The UP3 was beautifully packaged and looked impressive. the magnetically located USB charging lead is excellent. The first problem I had was getting it on as the clasp is very difficult to engage but once on, it felt good. You change its day function to the night function by double touch tapping the band and observing the blue and orange LEDs which are bright enough to see in the day and very bright at night but they only come on momentarily. The UP3 app is very good and the the pairing was straight forward. I was feeling pleased at this stage. The first problem I found is that the clasp is easy knocked open. I have nearly lost it from my wrist 3 times by feeling it come lose, its dropped off on the floor twice and has come off once during the night night. The only solution I have found is to tape it up with a small piece of insulation tape when you know it is more than likely that it will get knocked off. It has lost connection with my phone on 3 occasions but is soon reunited by following the apps instructions. Double tapping the band is not always straight forward and there are times when it just ignores you. You can change it using the app as long as you have your phone with you at the time you decide to retire at night and wake up in the morning. The UP24 had a definite switch which was simple and reliable. The data is interesting as the UP3 adds REM sleep to the nightly analysis and also provides a resting heartbeat which builds up into a historical graph. I only seem be registering about 75% of the daily steps the UP24 did but I have never done any calibration on either as for me, it is just an interesting daily comparator. The UP3 seems to holds its charge nearly as long as the UP24 did but one is new and one is old. It was not announced as waterproof when finally launched so don't believe the spec on the box which still claims it is.Overall - I have had a few Jawbone products which I have been thrilled with and as much as I would like to like it, I am disappointed with the UP3, especially after all the hype before it was launched. It is a shame the simple things such as the clasp and the switching are not as clever as the technology inside. A simple watch strap fastener would have been far better. Device seems ok. Support app not ok.
I bought item downloaded app to android phone. Yet to get most things to work. Records Heart rate, sleep time, steps. that's all (UP3 app). Been on web site which frankly is not much help. Unable to set a target weight.Trying another jawbone with iPhone so hopefully better accessibility of app features. If its an android phone your connecting too hopefully you have better luck!

DO NOT BUY FROM A NON-AUTHORISED SELLER, you'll need your warranty
DO NOT BUY FROM NON-AUTHORISED SELLERJawbone will not honour the warranty, and you WILL need the warranty, as the straps split, and you need to have purchased from an authorised seller (at probably twice the price) to make use of the support.Great fitness band, incredible app, superb fitness tracking, but just not built to last. The electronics and software, battery life and app are superb. The sleep tracking is excellent. The rubber strap just isn't up to the job. Everyone else seems to be able to make straps that you can bend and abuse, every one of these I've owned (UP2 & UP3) have split.I hope they get it right next time, because the tracker is brilliant, just let down by the strap.
