Can you reuse the same tea bag more then once. ie leave it in the mug for a 2nd and 3rd cup

I never rinse the tea leaves before making the tea. I didn't know this was ever done.

What is the shelf life?

I am not sure about the recommendation but a only buy once every 6 months and have not noticed any change in flavour
