In the early days of Aventus, it was famous for its heady and raved after \"pineapple\" note, which sadly more recent batches of Aventus have lost. To be fair to the manufacturer of Imperious, they make no claim that it is produced to smell like Creed Aventus (I just wanted to point this out).However on me Imperious for an Eau De Parfum (EDP) is a bit short lived in the scent longevity department. Maybe not a fair comparison, but when I put on my Dior Sauvage EDP, I can smell it on my skin 10+hours later. With Imperious the scent longevity on me is under four hours. This is not what I expect from a product that claims to be an EDP.That aside, Imperious does smell gorgeous and is up there with my favourite fragrances, and at the price point that Imperious is, it makes a great “every day fragrance” that is not going to cost you too much. But expect that you will need to re-apply Imperious throughout the day if you want to keep the smell up.I think I will order a bottle of Club De Nuit Intense (which is regarded as the best Creed Aventus smell alike on the market) and wear it one day and Imperious another and see which smells the better on me, and also which has the best scent longevity.One last thing to say:All in all Imperious is a great every day fragrance that comes close to Creed Aventus. I contacted Matt at Pocket Scents where he immediately resolved the situation with no questions asked. Absolutely amazing customer service. I arrived home to find my package of Imperious the day after Matt sent it. So, what is Imperious like? I have to say that it is fantastic. Fantastic. It lives up to the hype in it'scomparison to Creed Aventus. It's very, very close. It's lighter than other clones such as Club De Nuit Intense. It's initial scent is very fruity. A spicy smell of pineapple. In the drydown it projects really really well. Very sophisticated. It's not overwhelming at all. It just teases the air. I shook the bottle and sprayed the air a couple of times then applied it to me. It is such a refreshing change from the typical Eau Sauvage and Chanel Bleu I smell in the morning on the train. In the cafeteria at work a colleague who I only ever say hello to asked me what cologne I was wearing. She took note for her boyfriend. If you're partner or husband wants Aventus then buy it. BUT...buy Imperious too. It's £20. When you're boyfriend'sAventus is all gone he can use this. He won't notice the difference...except in his wallet. I'm going to try more fragrances from Pocket Scents. They're onto something. It's not going to be long till they discover that perfect signature line like Acqua Di Parma. That'd be fine with me but the problem with my bottle is that the scent fades rapidly to a skin scent within an hour and after another hour it's barely detectable.I have tried a spray of this on one wrist against a spray of authentic Aventus on the other and the proper stuff lasts for hours longer, which was confirmed by my girlfriend and a few friends, so it's not just \"nose blindness\" on my part.Shame, as I had high hopes reading the reviews online. It’s a beautiful fragrance in its own right the spray on my hand has just become feint around 5 hours however I have washed my hands multiple times and I can still just about smell it. For me that’s VERY impressive not to mention at this price it’s an absolute bargain and I will be purchasing more of this because I can’t afford to have it in my scent library. If you are in doubt just buy this fragrance as a creed alternative or not it’s worth every single penny. The bottle says Parfum but I have Zara Eau Da Parfum fragrances and they are considerably stronger and longer lasting.
