Wish I had bought one sooner!
I have deliberated purchasing a Le Creuset casserole dish for many years. I was never quite sure that I could justify the high price tag. However, this dish has absolutely transformed our mealtimes. It truly is worth every single penny.I use it for everything from stove-top soups, to one pot roast chicken dishes and everything in between. It looks stylish, is so incredibly easy to clean and cooks food evenly whilst keeping all of the flavours trapped inside. The main thing that swung it for me was seeing my mother’s 5 year old casserole dish. It was a cheaper model but was still fairly expensive. When she bought it 5 years ago it was stunning and looked comparable to Le Creuset. After 5 years of light use, the paint has almost entirely faded and chipped.I believe that you truly do get what you pay for with Le Creuset. I am hoping to pass these dishes to my young daughters when they set up home for themselves. This size of casserole is perfect for large chickens. It is very heavy, so might not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Durable and brilliant to cook in, both on the hob and in the oven
I bought this to replace its predecessor, which I had for 15 years. During that time I used it many times each week, for casseroles, curries, soups etc. It would still be going strong if I hadn’t forgotten it on the hob for so long that it literally couldn’t be saved. My Le Creuset saucepan set is still going strong. It was a wedding present... and I’ve been married over 36 years. The initial outlay for pans of this quality may seem high, but it would cost a huge amount more to buy multiple cheaper sets through the years, so it’s actually very cost effective.

Second to none...
After 25 years of service we finally decided that we had to retire our old Le Creuset due to it getting a chip in the enamel on the bottom of the pot.We bought the Denby equivalent but it just wasn't a Le Creuset, so that ended up with my daughter and we bought this one. There are two of us and the 25cm is more than big enough, it is easily big enough to serve 4 adults.A medium sized chicken will fit in the pot as will a medium sized lamb shoulder or 3 to 4 lamb shanks. We use the shoulder regularly for one of our favourite dishes, Greek Lamb. You may get a half lamb leg to fit but a full leg (with bone in) is too long.Good results are achieved whether cooking on the hob or in the oven. These Le Creuset casseroles are really easy to clean after a quick soak and come up looking like new.I can say that the colour looks even better up close than it does online, I'm pleased we opted for this one.Yes, they are expensive, but as my partner said 'You buy cheap, you buy twice'!If we get another 20+ years of service from this we will be happy bunnies!

You complete me
Completes our Le Creuset set nicely, and looks great in the Marseille Blue. Very expensive, but first class quality and will last forever. We had some pans which 16 years later got replaced under the Lifetime warranty for free so can't fault the after sales service.

Currently my favourite pot!
I love this pot. It matches my aga. I've used for one pot recipes such as chilli con carne and roast chicken and it looks so much nicer to bring to the table than my usual tins and casseroles. It heats very quickly and doesn't seem to have any hot spots. It's quite heavy but the handles make it really easy to pick up - big enough to fit 4 fingers in. (But remember that being cast iron they heat up quickly if you start off on the hob so oven gloves are needed). Sadly the delivery was shocking and the pot missed its first planned outing.

A joy
This was my first Le Creuset and the hype is well deserved. Only used it once but litterally been blown away. It cooked my ragu to perfection, without burning anything. The cleaning was just too easy, just had to wipe off with warm water. No more spending an eternity to clean a pot and this made the whole experience of cooking that much more enjoyable. I bought the 25cm oval, which was a bit too small to my taste. They are not cheap but already thinking about the next one I will buy.

Excellent product.
Excellent. I bought my 27cm casserole on 16th February 2017 for GBP 135.00. But reviewing this on 4th March 2017 I notice the price has jumped to GBP 199.00. It will fit a Small Sainsbury's chicken which is about 1.35kg with room to spare for some veg. Usual Le Creuset quality, but note being cast iron this is heavy, but can be used on the hob to brown/sear meat before adding veg to then put in the oven. The knob is easy to grip with an oven glove on.
