Works well
I don't have demanding plants, but the ones I have are thriving. Very positive fact that it doesn't need cleaning prior to use.

Very good
Very good substrat, but you have to wash first, as my one comes very dusty, but still recommended.

Undecided
The tub was too big for my needs - a shame you couldn't buy it in smaller tubs. The product appears to be of good quality and looks a bit like fine gravel. My aquarium plants are in pots so I put the product at the bottom then topped off with gravel. The majority of this product sinks in water, however there are fibrous bits that do float. If you have fish that dig, I gather you would have a messy water surface. Having the name "complete substrate", I thought the product would give my plants all the nutrients they need, however the instructions state that a fertiliser should be used monthly too. I will wait and see if it makes a difference.

Excellent
I wanted to switch from gravel to sand and like when I first set the aquarium around 9 years ago I decided to use this again and then cover it with sand. I used 2 tubs and then blocked it with sand. Plants are doing really well and this is a really good product.

Incredible plant growth within a few days.
Ordered this for a planted 80litre aquarium, containing a mix of plants and Moss. An 8kg tub will just about give a 2cm depth of substrate, which is the recommended depth by Tetra.Within a few days, plants showed signs of new life, including those that experienced awilting during transport. Leaves popped and new roots developed quite quickly through the sand.NegativesThe substrate is a mix of sand, peat, fertilizer and other materials that will turn your tank water brown. While some reviews suggest washing the substrate, it's best to leave it to settle for 24 hours and then do a water change. Otherwise you wash away the fertilizer and added minerals.

Hard to lay
I bought this to make a spare tank to try and grow some pond weed. It will be fine for that purpose. Wouldn't like to try putting it into a live aquarium as it has lots of small floating fragments and silt suspended in the water. However it does settle in a few hours if it stays undisturbed. Has to be used as a base substrate and covered with a thick layer of heavier gravel.

OK so far
Makes quite a mess but it seems OK. Plants aren't growing any better than they did before with just sand
