Dell Professional P2717H 27-Inch Widescreen (1920x1080P) IPS LED Back Lit Monitor 210-AIRY - Black/Silver

This display is perfect for an office/ home media station. The panel is bright and clear (it's not the sharpest in the world but then again its not 4K or Ultra Sharp technology) text and movies look great though. It's so nice to work on a 27' display, I don't feel restricted or no am I squinting anymore.The good bits:• The assembly of the display is so simple, you do not require a screw driver, just simply screw in one screw at the bottom (using a latch type screw which is already in place) then click the stand onto the panel whilst it is still safe in the box so that you can then pull the entire display out of the box by the stand.• Ergonomics: this display can rotate left and right, swivel clockwise 90*, tilt back and forth and is height adjustable.• Plug and play: simply connect the cable most suited to you (it comes with HDMI, VGA and Display Port cables) and the image looks great. I'm sure someone could tweak and alter the settings to be 'just perfect' (and there are plenty of settings to go through) but for me its great when set to 'standard'.• Usability: I don't find that I'm straining my eyes when using this display, I've only used it for a short period so far but it is pretty friendly on the eyes. Also the USB ports on the left hand side of the panel are really useful for pen drives (2 X USB 3.0).The not so good:• Ergonomics: whilst this display can be twisted and turned in many directions, when adjusting the height downward it is not always a smooth operation. Moving up, the display glides without resistance, but when moving down you have to apply more force which can take you by surprise as you gradually apply more pressure then all of a sudden, clunk you're at the bottom. This may sound worse than it actually is but its the only way I can describe it - this issue certainly does not put me off the monitor as a whole.• The plastic bezel looks great but feels a bit cheap in places, especially at the top centre where it creaks and visibly bends if you apple pressure.• The USB ports on the bottom are USB 2.0. I knew this before buying so its no great deal breaker for me but I just won't be using them. Seems pointless to have such dated technology, especially when they've including USB 3.0 on the side.Other:• Some people may consider having no speakers as a negative but honestly I'd rather Dell spend more money and attention on other technology in the monitor than on speakers that invariably do not live up to dedicated speakers anyway. I have a B&W zeppelin attached to my Mac mini and it sounds wonderful. Even if this had speakers I wouldn't use them.Overall I'm very pleased with this display. I did want to buy a 4k display or a Dell Ultra Sharp display but quite honestly the jump in quality would not be double from this display and yet the price is double and more. I'm pleased with my purchase.

I can highly recommend this monitor. I purchased it for business use (I am a software developer) I use it all day long and the clarity of picture and colour depth are amazing.The stand that comes with the monitor is better than most as it allows quite a broad height adjustment, as well as complimenting the overall style of the monitor.Some of the Dell monitors of this size have a particularly glossy screen and are not ideally suited for being used all day long. I.e. you get quite a lot of reflection and causes your eyes to work harder. This monitor does not have this issue at all, its surface is matt.Plenty of ports including embedded USB 3.0 hub and accessible USB 3.0 port on the left hand side.Display Port, HDMI and VGA make this a pretty versatile choice.

After getting 2 of these running as dual monitors I've already have one die on me. Nightmare since working as a graphic designer and after spending over 4k for an Alienware Aurora R6 rig. Can't even get hold of Dell lesson learnt!!

I design websites and so I need two screens for my work. This screen had all five star reviews and for that reason it was high on my list of possibles. I have now had the screens for around two weeks and I'm delighted with them. They are both driven from my graphics card although one is driven by HDMI - no lead supplied which was a bit of a niggle - and the other by DVI converted to VGA - again a bit of a niggle due to the screens not having a DVI connection but I knew this before purchase. The possible downside of one driven by VGA and the other HDMI is that I can't get the two screens exactly the same colour but they are pretty near and certainly near enough not to be a problem.Others have mentioned the matt finish which avoids reflections and that certainly is the case. The point that one reviewer makes regarding the bezel being flimsy I have not found to be the case.One outstanding feature is the stand. One thumbscrew secures the two parts of the stand together and the screen then snaps easily into place but can also be easily removed from the stand by the mere press of a button. I found it easier to connect the cables with the screen off the stand and then snap the screen into place. Once connected the screen can be lowered, hired, twisted from landscape to portrait as well as be turned on the desk while keeping the foot of the stand stationery. The stand operates by a counterbalancing spring.Overall the screen is great and the stand is great as well. Highly recommended.

The monitor for sure is one of the bests in this price range. It is easy to set up and considering, it tilts and you adjust its height is a big advantage.The delivery worked and it only tool less than 24 hours ordering by prime.

I have had this for a few months now and I love it. Very good laptop if you want a 1080p monitor.

This monitor has what I can only described as a flat / matt finish on the screen which is very easy on the eyes (great if you're using it for long periods). I'm sure some people won't like that though as it does feel like less quality when compared to a really glossy retina display, like on an iMac.Arrived on time, well packaged, very easy to assemble. Also came with a variety of cables.You can twist and turn it to virtually all possible angles which is also useful.

Very disappointed with this screen. It has only worked for four months and now I need to return it. It is proving very disruptive to my business.
