Works when you need it
The time has come to use this product for jump starting so I thought I'd share my experience.I've got a 1.8 petrol Toyota and the battery went flat today after I left the lights on. So I took the jump starter from the boot. It held the charge well after I charged it after our last camping session a few months ago. The indicator still showed full. I guess it might be important to follow the instructions for the long initial charging period when you receive the product. It was 36 hours, if I remember correctly.Anyway, I connected it to the battery. The indicator LED worked well, you don't want to send the potentially 900 amps across the car's system the other way around in the dark, do you? Cranking, car starts, end of story. It's a great camping tool, too, we used it to charge devices, inflate all sorts of stuff while on holiday. The rugged construction is good, too, there's no sign of deterioration so far.

Honest Opinion: Don't Waste Your Money - It won't Last
This is an honest review of how I found the unit.I bought it in July 2013 and it didn't even last 3 years. From date of purchase, I used it around 10 times to top up tyres. I found the compressor very noisy, the hose too short and the gauge completely inaccurate - to the extent that I had to check tyres after each top up with a separate digital gauge. The gauge on the unit proved vastly inaccurate every single time.I managed to jump start a car only once - in early 2014. I found that the cables from the unit only lead to 1 side of each electrode. This shouldn't make a difference but it does, and means that it is extremely difficult to get a good connection on the battery terminal. The worst is that this is the only time it ever managed to jump start a car. In October this year, my daughter tried to jump start the car and it simply wouldn't work and left her stranded. When I got home, I found it was completely flat, DESPITE HAVING BEEN PLUGGED IN TO THE MAINS AND ON CHARGE PER THE INSTRUCTIONS. I tried over the course of a couple of weeks to charge it but it would not hold a charge. So, despite very little use and following all instructions to the letter, it didn't even last 2 1/2 years. Of course now that it is out of warranty, the seller has said they can't report it to the manufacturer and have advised me to contact them directly. Frankly, I don't see much point. This review is an honest warning to potential buyers. If you want something that will last, don't buy this one.

best of the bunch for the money
read all reviews for all types & prices , and reckoned this was the best for the money. I needed a jump starter with a big punch ie; 17Ah instead of the 9Ah of cheaper versions. Halfords do a similar one with 22 Ahs but it's between £80 - £100.I have a camper van that has an engine battery & a leisure battery & wanted to be able to jump start the van if I'd flattened any or both of these batteries.I also needed an inflater for my cycles & my old Fiesta which has alloys that don't fit the tyres so well these days & need pumping up every 3 weeks or so. Having to go to the local garage was a pain. It did a totally flat tyre to 30 psi in about 2 mins. Not as noisy as other reviewers suggest in my opinion, as long as not doing it in the Street at 5am !Did my cycle tyres to 80 psi in about a minute, brilliant, no more hand pumping for minutes on end. Also need the 12v DC socket to run wife's camping hairdryer when in the camper, also the Tom Tom fits in that socket.I already have a 300Watt power invertor, for topping up my laptop battery, but can now run it off this power unit and not run down my leisure battery. The laptop drinks tons of power which the inverter just manages from the dashboard cigarette lighter socket. This will be a huge improvement. This company just make these and don't sell to the public, just to the motor industry.Came nicely packaged, good instructions which detail how to use the jump start, ie not both clamps on the terminals, but the black ,negative one on the car chassis metal. 1st charge is instructed to be 38 hours. I did this & it worked.Clamp cables & air hoses are too short , but every one of its competitors, have the same complaint.I emailed the company, before I bought it, to ask whether it would come with other valves for bike tyres etc & they replied within a day, that it did. 3 in all inc the car / bike tyre valve that is already on it.I'm impressed with the whole thing, looks good too.

Good value Jump Starter
I bought this product to help me with starting problems I have with an old classic car that I have that is sometimes is hard to start. Bought this unit to ensure I won't get stranded away from home and chose this particular product because of the extra features it has as well as just being a jump starter, price, looks and value versus other models. Have not been disappointed, it looks great, feels solidly built, is a convenient size to leave in the small boot of the car and I have already used it twice. The only small improvement would be to make the jump leads a little longer they are on the short side, that said all round a very good product that I would recommend.

I have used the battery starter a few times & as long as you keep the unit fully charged it seems very good at starting cars wit
It lasted a couple of years before the compressor gave up which to be honest was no real surprise & has convinced me to get a proper compressor because this one was so slow & noisy, I have used the battery starter a few times & as long as you keep the unit fully charged it seems very good at starting cars with flat batteries,

excellent piece of machinery
easy to use; i.e. didnt have to read the instructions, have only used the jump start bit though. The company I think charge the unit initially for you, cos mine worked literally out of the box! My second car - constantly fails to start as it is not used that much, this cranked it. Only grip is that there is no where to put the optional extras - i.e. the plug for charging, the bits for the compressor...And they might easily get lost..also 40hrs to initially charge?? Joking right? .
