Nope, especially if you've got thicker legs. I'm wearing my shorts now and the most you can see with legs crossed is back of the mid thigh. Even when I wear the 4" inseams, you can't see anything with legs crossed.

Q: What size for 40-42 waist?

I am a 31 inch waste and I fit a medium perfect so I estimate that you'd fit an XL! They have terrific customer service at chubbies, give em a shot! 😄😊

Q: are these for chubby people?

They fit me great. I'm not chubby. A longer torso and shorter, muscular legs.
