I have tried 2 other non-Canon batteries in addition to the original genuine Canon supplied with the camera, both have been rubbish, despite one being relatively expensive. They not only had very poor capacity from new, they lost their charge very quickly, and their life was so very short that they turned out to be false economy. The original Canon battery is still working while the cheap compatibles have long been disposed of.I considered these Ansmann batteries because of Ansmann's reputation, my experience of their batteries, and of course the price when compared with a genuine Canon.Ansmann are a German company that make very high quality rechargeable batteries in Germany. I have used many of their batteries and chargers and found them to be excellent - probably better than their well known competitors. They are a quality German manufacturer, making excellent products. These NB2LH are made in China, but do carry the Ansmann name and are supplied in Ansmann blister packaging, so I gambled on Ansmann not putting their reputation at risk by supplying compatible cheap Chinese junk. I have not been disappointed. Although they have obviously not been in use for as long as the original Canon, the indications are very good. They have a high capacity and hold their charge as well as the original Canon did. Their life is not yet known, but so far they are behaving just as well as the original Canon did.At the price, an excellent buy.Update:-After 12 months of heavy use the battery is performing exactly as the original Canon version. Highly recommended.

I have a venerable Canon powershot S 50As well as the original battery - now 11 years old I have a selection of others bought over the years.All have got to the stage that they last about halfway through a 128mb card (49 exp)This battery has taken 180 shots so far some with flash and is not yet complaining.Coincidentally (??) The camera seems to cope with a 4 GB SD card (which now seems the smallest available).A good buy and a repeated purchase

Delighted, this battery fit my old Canon 350D as my local camera shop did not stock it.Glad to report after a month it's holding its charge. Great value.

I bought this as I couldn't bring myself to pay the asking price for the Canon original. Very impressed. Every bit as good as the original battery it replaced and used alongside another Canon original. I could see no difference in performance. No hesitation in recommending. I've now upgraded camera and my spare battery will be an Ansmann.

Having bought a cheap Chinese battery in the past which led the camera to tell me to change the battery pack, I am pleased to say this German product was instantly recognised by my Canon after being charged. Can't comment on it's staying power or capacity yet.

I have canon 350d and the battery lasts for about 600 to 700 pictures after all these years.Now with the second one and the battery grip I bought I shot a time lapse of 750 photos over the night, from 19:15 to 06:30.Very good.Vety happy.

With more than 2 years of use and still without any loss of stamina. This battery still shoots photos in my EOS400D like mad.
