Not for every kitchen drain.
The tool matched my drain. The tool is designed to be used from the bottom of the sink due to the hole placement on the tool. I didn’t want use it that way. I wanted to use it from the top so I used vise grips. It worked well. They’ve changed designs on sink drains. My design is old school so the tool worked well.

It worked
It is a good tool and it worked as described.

Works pretty well
Almost 5 stars but subtracted for the hassle of using it. The tool works after you finally get it in place. The only issue (being very picky) is this doesn't use the same force all the way around the strainer. I might opt for the tool that is round and applies force evenly all around the perimeter of the strainer.Still, this thing does work a lot better than a toolbox tool you're trying to make do with.

It’s ok
It works , but that was not overly impressed with the performance. It kept slipping off the nut

I wish I'd had this tool long before
This is one of those tools that has a very specific job. It's not intended, as some reviewers here seem to think, to turn the drain. It's meant to hold the drain in place, while you use a sink strainer lock nut wrench to turn the lock nut underneath the sink that secures the drain to the sink. That's incredibly useful because once the drain is detached from the tailpiece (the pipe immediately below the drain assembly), there's really nothing to provide the resistance needed to force the lock nut to turn around the drain's threads, so instead, the entire drain and lock nut just wants to spin in the hole in the sink, making things worse. So, you fit this guy into the bottom of the drain from the underside, position your lock nut wrench, and use one hand for each. It's perfect for that. (Last time I had a stuck lock nut, I ended up replacing the sink and drain, rather than trying to saw off the corroded drain at risk to my patience, sanity, and fingers. If I'd had this tool, I might have been less ambitious.)

Works okay.
I made one out of pvc pipe but a very stubborn tail piece nut cut the tangs off! This guy let me really put the torque on to break the tail piece nut loose. It saved me getting out the hacksaw! It could be a bit longer to use from the top. I used a big screwdriver in the tangs at the top to backup the torque on the install (working by myself). The provided handle works fine from the bottom.

Not good in tight areas.
I've only used the wrench one time to tighten the large nut under my kitchen sink drain. You would think the plumbing industry could make these nuts wider and with more of an octagon shape so regular channel lock pliers could be used and the wrench could get a better grip, but I guess that makes to much common sence. This particular wrench kept slipping and because the handle is so long I couldn't get more than a 1/4" turn before it was hitting the adjacent drain pipe. The wrench was slipping because of the bad design of the nut and because of the tight work area I was in I just couldn't position the wrench to get a good bite to start out turning it. Hopefully the manufacturer will make a wrench with a shorter handle because other reviews also complained about this issue.

Perfect tool and what I needed
As a female homeowner, sometimes the challenges are just having the strength to remove nuts, washers, and things of that nature. That was the case when I was trying to remove my kitchen sink drain. I tried needle nose pliers, and screwdrivers to keep the basket from spinning and loosen the washer underneath. I saw this tool online and in the end, it gave me the leverage I needed to loosen the washer to get the old basket off. It's made of heavy steel and very sturdy. It made installing the new basket much easier too. All in all, I was very pleased it made the project work for me and I did not have to resort to calling a plumber. So glad I bought it!

Poor Design
For kitchen basket strainers, this product is not long enough. When the bar is though the hole, you cannot use it due to the strainer being too deep. I bought a Husky brand at Home Depot that seems to work better.

Requires Some Effort, But Works
Not the easiest to use in tight places and/or if you can’t see the nut you’re trying to loosen/tighten and pretty much requires two hands to use, but when you get it on the nut securely it does its job.

All the parts need work. Slippage occurs often. But not a battle with some work
The tool is not bad for the money. needs a little work to get it right. Molding is not real exact. Anybody knows how to make tools better because of molding defects can make the store better. For the money it’s not bad. Being a plumber and doing lots sinks. I find this tool Adequate

Got the job done
Pros: Easy to use, sturdy materialCons: NoneI was dealing with a loose sink locknut, which was causing water to drip underneath the sink. After wasting tons of plumber's putty I decided to finally tackle this problem before the mold formed. I researched and found what I needed.. a lock nut wrench. Once I received it, I started working away on this uncomfortable-to-my-back project. All went well. I tightened the lock nut until it was as secure as I could make it and the water leak stopped. While the wrench might seem flimsy upon first inspection, it's not. The power is in the grip and torque.

Good quality/poor design!
Needs to be 2-3 inches longer so it can be used at top of strainer. The handle does not clear sink basin when inserted from top of sink. I used a screwdriver as the handle at the other end of wrench.
