Abs amazing!!!
Hands down this is by far the best mandolin we have ever had so far. It is massive, strudy but very light and easy to use. I have shredded a whole cabbage, onions, carrots and potatoes in seconds. It is sublime. I have used 2 Oxo mandolines before...one broke on my first attempt to make a coleslaw and the second broke after 2 weeks of use. Amazon refunded the money but the bitter taste and disappoinment remained. I was looking something to replace the crappy, cheap and flimsy Oxo with and what could be better than Japanese quality? To be honest I was proud to buy smth made in Japan that cuts like a Samurai Sword. Could not recommend this enough. Mummy s biggest helper. Love it to bits. Do buy. Such a clever and reliable product.

A superb piece of kitchen kit!
A superb piece of kitchen kit! We use ours for making Kraut salad (a sliced cabbage salad with lemon and cumin seeds) and this makes slicing the cabbage an easy task. Watch your fingers, it is sharp! Verdict; superb!

It is a very good cabbage slicer
It is a very good cabbage slicer. You get cut salad in seconds. I wanted to use it for other types of vegetables as well but it cuts them too thin. Also I am not impressed with the security handle. It doesn't attach to the cabbage so well.

For sauerkraut
Good to shred cabbage without shredding fingers

Cabbage slicer
Arrived by mail from Japan. I used it today for the first time to prepare Sauerkraut. The slices were nice and thin, the knife extremely sharp. Sliced around 2 kg of cabbage and it took me one minute. Not particularly cheap, but seems to be worth the money.

Very sharp and perfect for shredding cabbage
Originally got this to shred cabbage for sauerkraut which is very very finely shredded. I also use it to shred lettuce, spring onions, cucumber. I live with a chef who was impressed with my salad as he thought I’d used a knife the proper way haha! It’s great. Very very sharp

It is good but not brilliant
It is good but not brilliant. You will still need to use a knife to chop the smaller pieces as cabbage dont really work with the attachment. Either that or throw 1/4 of your cabbage away. Trying to do the small pieces on this with your hands is very dangerous. So still looking for a simple solution for making my saurkraut. Perhaps ill try and electric food processor.
