It traps rats!
This is an excellent product and very good value for money. The set up is a little bit fiddly the first time you try it but it's actually more straightforward than I imagined and as soon as I realised that and I'd done it once it was a piece of cake from then on. I've had mine two days and I've caught and released 4 rats already! This is much easier on my conscience than poisoning would be and much kinder to the environment. Releasing them from these traps is quick and easy too. I can also highly recommend digestive biscuits smothered in peanut butter as the ideal bait.

Four Stars
Sets up easy but not caught the rat yet just a greedy pigeon

They work.
These are a bit fiddly to set up and bait, but they do work and are way preferable to other forms of control. They need to be checked every day so the rat doesn't die from cold/hunger.unfortunately, I'm a soft touch and because it was squealing so loudly I immediately released, straight back into the garden the last young rat caught.I've not been allowed to live it down since, as apparently rats (being highly intelligent) never forget, so it and amazingly also it's young will never allow themselves to be captured again. Not the same for squirrels, who we've caught a few times and don't seem to learn from their mistakes.

POOR TRAP
DESPITE LOTS OF GOOD REVIEWS I HAVE FOUND IT USELESS.HAD TO GET YOUTUBE VIDEO TO SET IT UP.EACH TIME THEY TOOK BAIT FROM BACK OF CAGE BUT GOT OUT BEFORE THE DOOR CLOSED OR MANAGED TO PUSH UP THE TRAP DOOR .EITHER WAY IT DID NOT WORK AND I WAS OVERRUN WITH RATS.EVEN FOR TRANSPORTATION IT IS POOR AS SLATTED BASE WOULD PROBABLY CAUSE INJURY TO RAT.SHOULD HAVE A METAL SHEET ON BASE.COUNCIL HAVE NOW POISONED THEM ALL WHICH I DID NOT WANT.IN NEW YORK THEY HAVE BEEN USING STERILIZATION BAIT SUCCESSFULLY INSTEAD OF POISON.MIGHT BE WORTH LOOKING INTO

Well-made trap, a bit too sensitive.
Haven't used it yet, but the mechanism works, though so sensitive that a rat rustling past it could trigger the trap before it looked in it. Maybe leaving a trail of titbits to the entrance would help. Seems well-made though, clever idea.

Good quality product. Arrived on time.
Good quality product. Arrived on time. Takes a bit of practice to set the trigger. I put the trap on top of a pile of peanuts and set it up. I put a brick on top of the trap to weigh it down. A big rat had tried to get to the nuts by digging around the outside but then must have become frustrated and went inside. The next morning I had caught a rat! I released it into the woods about 6 miles away. No sign of rats in our garden since.

Not fit for purpose
Very cheaply made (in China presumably). Difficult to set & avoid setting it off accidentally. A piece of rubbish basically, but I guess that on the basis that you get what you pay for, I've given it 2 stars. Cheap certainly, but almost certainly a false economy. My advice would be to pay a bit more & get a trap that's fit for purpose.

but easy after a few times
What sets this humane trap apart from others is its build quality. I found it tricky to set at first, but easy after a few times. It comes in an exact fit stout cardboard box which is perfect for storage. Delivery was very quick, which was much appreciated.
