Is not fit for purpose
This is an product I bought to chop peanuts for birds during the nesting season as whole nuts can choke the young! So as the advert states chops nuts for deserts and bird feeding I jumped for one, so when it came I couldn't wait to try it out! I placed a cap full of peanuts in the top! Used the handle and chopped the first lot of nut! Was tough to operate as the handle is very small but OK it is what it is!But when I looked inside the blades were all bent and twisted? It was OK when I looked into it before use!The metal parts are soft metal so it was easy forcthe nuts to bend the blades? They should be made of high tensile hardened steel like stainless steel but are more like soft tin and isn't made for purpose!Nuts are hard but this device is compleatly useless for chopping peanuts so it advertises it cuts nuts for deserts and for feeding birds! Clearly it doesn't so it's not fit for purpose!I have no alternative but to return it to the retailer at amazon for a refund! A replacement would quite clearly do exactly the same! What a shame! A great idea completely let down by the substandard metal materials used in the manufactor! See photos!

It does the job and is easy to clean - can't go wrong with it
A bit of an old-school device for getting coarsely chopped nuts. It does the job and is easy to clean - can't go wrong with it.

Not so good for hard nuts
This is good for the softer nuts like walnuts but does struggle with the harder ones like hazlenuts and almonds which caused a couple of the blades to bend.

This is absolutely hopeless - don't waste your money
This is absolutely hopeless - don't waste your money. It utterly refuses to respond to brazil nuts, in spite of its claim that it chops hard nuts. This is the second so-called nut chopper I have bought from Amazon in a month and I have come to the conclusion that this country just can't make a simple manual chopper. Goodness knows it's a simple enough gadget - in theory.

Go nuts!
This is very good for walnuts and pecans. If used in the position shown, you will probably need to fill it a couple of times. It could use a thumbnail indentation where the cap goes on to facilitate taking the cap off. The cap is a tight fit, so a little hard to get off. At least it doesn't matter which way you turn the handle, so great for a lefty.

Weak bladed chopper
All looked good, it worked really well but the pressed sheet metal blades just aren't up to the job. They soon bent when a large nut got in the way.

Difficult to use on harder nuts
The handle is too small and it's difficult to maintain a firm grip when chopping harder nuts like almonds and pistachios. The blades are somewhat lightweight and more suitable for softer nuts like cashews

Love it.
Had one for probably 30 years and dropped it. I was amazed that I could replace it with the same type. It is perfect.

Junk
Total junk. Very first use attempted to chop almonds. The tines got all bent and it no longer works. For $7 not sure it is worth the time send it back - rather than waste time at the post office I'm writing this to keep others from also giving $ to this company. What a total waste of money. I buy a lot from Amazon, but this is the worst product I ever got from them. Amazon should pull this product from the site - it's junk and gives them a bad name.

Identical to the one Grandma gave me 40 years ago!
Very pleased after some of the reviews I read! Same sturdiness that I had with the old one. Blades are just as heavy and sharp as my old one. Never did whole almonds or pistachios in the old one and probably wouldn't abuse this new one in that way either. This one will outlast me!

Worthless Piece of Junk
I bought two of these in December but didn't use them until trying to chop nuts today (March), so it is too late to return them. Using them each just once resulted in most of the blades getting bent so badly that it wouldn't even chop the nuts as the bent blades did not line up with the holes to push the presumed broken pieces through. Grrrrr!!!
